I've just come across an art print that I won many years ago in a painting competition by Alex Boyd, it depicts the Battle of Blood Gorge and I know they are no longer in print and I was wondering if dakka could help me.
I'm looking to sell this on to raise money for my GT tickets this year and was wondering what price valuation you would give on these out of print art prints....its in near mint condition and has hardly been out of the envelope I recieved it in.
But yeh just wondering what you guys think about this.

Does it come with signature or certificate?
I think those 2 will be the determine factor to whats its worth.

It doesn't unfortunatly, as I said I won it in a painting competition, it has copyright GW etc etc up the one side but thats about it. I remember when the black lib were selling these a long time ago which is why im curious to know how much its worth as theve been so long OOP and I need the money for the GT's this year.

Mainly I was wondering if people had seen any of these or something similar up on ebay or similar sites and what kind of price range they were going for.

Start it off at $5 on eBay and see how high it goes. It's not a bad looking print at all, but there's nothing super special about it that makes it a hot collector's item, so don't expect too much and if you do get $20-30 for it then hey.

Sorry, the 2 margaritas I had were talking, now it's the Coronas.
In all honesty, it reminds me of how at my local GW, they give away posters all the time at painting competitions as runner up prizes, and at raffles (we call them the "boobie prize", cause if you win the poster, then you can't win the real stuff; figures/books). They treat them like the junk that they know that no-one will pay for, and IMO they're right. Just be thankful that it's not by John "I spilled the wash water on my watercolor art homework but I'm going to hand it in anyway" Blanch. Getting his stuff would be like getting used toilet paper, uch
IF, however, this is a quality art print and not just a poster, you may be able to get more for it. $15-30. I think that E-bay might be the best bet.
Automatically Appended Next Post: After all, it's not figures or rules, so it's only of secondary interest in the hobby.

I prefer getting really neat posters during the giveaways as I'm highly unlikely to get a model I'm really going to use and the books are cheap anyways. You cant get the posters every day. That one you have is really nice IMO and would be a great addition to a collection.

I would kill for 40k-related posters, the art and background are arguably the coolest parts about the whole thing and my walls are so bare it's sad.

Thats what I thought, at the end of the day this is a collectors item more than anything hence why I was asking.
@ PC Yes it is an art print not a poster its printed on card, true Blanch has a style thats alot like Marmite, you either love him or hate him.
@Sid - tell me about it, I have posters that really should have been thrown away years ago. I've got Epic 40k ones, The Beasts of Chaos artwork and above my bed as it has been for the past 5 - 6 years is the Emperor vs Horus.

Have you looked on the BL website? they used to have all of thier old stock still listed with original prices, if so I'd take that price and add 50%. If not, track down the artist (at gamesday) get him to sign it then sell it for more. Just looking at it i'd bet you could probably get £15-20 for it maybe more depending on how old it is and how much someone wants it.
Edit: Just checked the BL website for you, unfortunately its not up there sorry. Anyway my guesstimates on price still stand.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I stumbled on this thread while considering the same question as the OP. One difference, though--the print I'm looking to sell is in fact signed and numbered. I have several others as well.
You can find it here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170484960642&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT#ht_500wt_1182
Click through to my user profile for the other prints.
Hope you find them of interest!
