So been tweaking around with this idea for a couple of days...

Archdomina Makeda
Molik Karn
Cyclops Savage
Praetorian Swordsmen (10)
Praetorian Officer & Standard Bearer
Cataphract Cetrati (6)
Tyrant Commander & Standard Bearer

So...

Points - 500/500
Victory Points - 19

The Cetrati can shield wall and still run with Savagery from Makeda, or Defenders Ward to bump them to ARM 22 in tight formation during a shield wall. Karn is too good to pass up with Makeda, and Makeda seems to be my favorite warlock. The Tyrant Commander seems like a great choice for me, since I dont like the slow moving set up for the Guardian. The Tyrant gives the Cetrati and Swordsmen boosted speed or Pathfinder. The Savage is a pretty good light and he fit in pefectly with only 62 pts left over. Plus his animus will be good for Makeda and it will help me keep from wasting high rolls and better chances with a low roll. Anyone have anything to comment on?

sadly, i haven't had a chance to play against many of those models, but anything that can shieldwall generally proves troublesome to deal with.

with just two beasts, it might have trouble with fury....but i've heard the character cyclops is crazy awesome, so maybe not

I think I'd try and put some pain givers in there to make Molik super scary, and with so many souls around I'd put an ancestral guardian in there too. I'd ditch the two UA type things.

2012- stopped caring
Nova Open 2011- Orks 8th Seed---(I see a trend)
Adepticon 2011- Mike H. Orks 8th Seed (This was the WTF list of the Final 16)
Adepticon 2011- Combat Patrol Best General

Makeda is a formidable troop caster, so the troop heavy nature of the list is great. "Praetorian Officer & Standard Bearer" makes your swordsmen a significant threat to high armor infantry (MoW, IFP, etc.) This is a solid list, but there are some sizable gaps in your army.

1) Too Few Warbeasts (as mentioned) - Molik hits like a ton of bricks, but he is effectively a glass cannon. Good ARM, but he only has the HP of a light warbeast. Looking at your list there's nothing to screen Molik as he is the only model with a large base. Savage's animus adds little to your list, as Molik already has Future Sight. Perhaps replace the Cyclops Savage with the Cyclops Brute, so Molik can get a defensive buff with Safeguard, because anyone with some experience in WarMachine or Hordes will take him out first. When you loose either Cyclopes, and you're down to either 3 or 5 fury. That is 3 to 5 fury if you MAX out your beasts fury stat, which means you loose the ability to transfer damage.

2) Lack of Ranged Threat - You might as well leave your models in your army transport if your opponent runs a shooty Haley list. Your ENTIRE army will spend its turns running 5-6" a turn, and unable to return fire. Fish in a barrel anyone?

You can fill these gaps relatively easily. At a minimum, I'd recommend throwing in the Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew to hide portions of your army (like Molik). Another good solution is to replace Molik with two more Cyclopes of your choice, this would aleviate the potential fury problem. If you want more smoke, then add a Void Spirit. Perhaps add an Extoller Soulward to let your pathfinding (via Tyrant commander & Standard) unit to see through forests, so they may charge at whatever's hiding behind it, etc. As mentioned, with so many souls sitting around it is awefully tempting to include an Ancestral Guardian or two. Skorne solos are so good that there's no reason not to include at least one or two.

Just glancing at this list it looks very "brick'able", so if you want to be nigh-invulnerable to shooting, add a Basilisk Krea for its Paralytic Aura. Smoke + Paralytic Aura + Defender's Ward = Centrati with 18DEF and 24ARM against ranged attacks. Who needs a Land-Raider?

EDITS: Recommend replacing Savage with Brute and corrected typos.
