With a big Apocalypse day coming up among some local players, I have decided to get my two big FW Hierodules painted. They are now base coated in glorious black.

The color scheme of my 'Hive Fleet Verhoenid' is Green/Grey and they will look similar to the following Carnifex, although I hope to do a lot better job.

Please provide any tips or feedback you may have as I paint these beasties... the first thing I am planning to do is to paint the 'green' body.

* Base coat with Dark Angels Green.
* Highlight coat with Snot Green.
* Use the Thraka? Green Wash over body.
* Drybrush coat of Snot Green.
* Drybrush highlight coat of Goblin Green.
* Drybrush highlight coat of 50/50 Gobbie Green / Bleached Bone for extreme areas.

Opinions?

Let's see... a year has passed and I didn't touch these guys too much.

A little bit ago I did add the base paint to the Scythed Hierodule. and he started to look a lot better!

Then last week I finally decided to finish off this beast. I added a 50-50 mix of codex gray and chaos black to the darker areas. Then, I drybrushed him with straight codex gray and then fortress gray. He got a bit of a wash with Badab Black and then a very light drybrush of Fortress Gray.I also added some purple and red coloring and drybrushed the dirt with a few different browns.

Next up was working on the greens. I touched things up with some Dark Angels green and then did some heavy shading with a mix of that and snot green and then just snot green. After that was some highlighting and drybrushing with goblin green. A little green washing and then a light drybrush of goblin green finished the greens off. I then used a few reds and washed his mouth out and put a few layers of bleached bone on the claws. Then, then I added some hormagaunt purple and then a purple wash to the purple areas.

The next night was time to finish him up... some grypon wash on the bone areas to make them look... err... bony and using deneb stone and purple wash over the bio acid spray. I added some badab black and green wash where needed and based him up along with some detail work here and there with assorted colors.
