Hello all!

I'm new to thise forum, but I started collecting GW models roughly around 2001. The first time I saw GW models was in a display case in our local cinema. Those were the LotR elves displayed around the time one of the LotR movies was released. So I went to the shop, and got my first models, paint, glue, brushes etc. I collected a few LotR models, but I soon turned over to warhammer fantasy, and warhammer 40k. The models just looked more detailed, and I could build and paint them in a way I liked it. Painting LotR models, in a way they don't look in the movies is like watching star wars with red lightsabers for every jedi. Atleast, that counts for me.

I collected a huge Empire army first, and for warhammer 40k I got a quite big space marines (ultramarines to be specific). Up to today it has been mostly collecting models, and not so much painting models, but I'm hoping to make a difference to that these holiday weeks. I painted qutie a few models though, but I tend to paint mainly heroes, and want to paint every detail. So that's why I haven't really got many finished basic units. I'm gonna paint my Ultramarine army much in the same way as you can see it in the books, standard blue + gold outfits. Although I'm gonna do some things different. Hero-marines, like Sicarius, will have a white power armor, with blue markings etc, so it's basicly switching colors. It looks kinda cool, and it's something different, makes them stand out a bit from the units they join. Apart from that, and yes I know space marines normally don't care about camo, my scouts wil have some type of urban camo, and black/dark greyish armour plates etc. Also I'm going to add and customize a few of those new IG command squads (catachans) to be special scout-commandos for home-made missions, which I do with my brother and friends. They don't mind it. I just like scenarios with scouts/commandos who infiltrate an enemy base, blow stuff up, and then get the hell out (or not, depending on those bloody dice). I'm also working on a space marine valkyrie (used to transport scouts only). And yes I know some people are gonna hate me for that, I can feel the laserpoints of your guns on my forehead. But I don't care, I like it, my gaming buddies don't mind, they got some weird stuff aswell.

And as I'm typing all this I question myself, are people even interested in all this? Is it even appropiate to put this in an introduction topic? I hope so Anyway, maybe you'll soon see a few pictures, or other stuff appear on the forum about the project. And now I'm going outside into the garden, brainstorming about my army, hopefully coming up with new ideas. Although it may turn into brainboiling, as I see it's about 32*C...

I greet you kindly!
