To any and all Soulstorm players here on Dakka, How do I deal with early T1 rushes?

The past 10 consecutive games have been nothing but rush-fests, and I've lost all 10.

I'm getting pretty fething sick of it, IMHO.

I've tried Turrets, Listening Posts with Turrets, Hell, I've even built up an entire defence network.

I can only think of 2 answers

1. Play Eldar: T1 Infiltrating buildings with infiltrated turrets could be my answer.

2. Castling: I've thought about this, but I don't know how exactly. I've tried, and haven't won as of yet.

I play Chaos, BTW.

Any and all help would be appreciated a hundredfold.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

The only answer to a rush is a rush.
I used to always get rushed playing SoB. Some armies can start making troops with their first building and SoB and some others need to build something else.. so... I always got rushed.

Until I built two troop-making buildings.
Used missionaries to grab strategic points and produced 2 full squads of sisters ASAP and soon a third.

By the time my first squad is out and slowly building itself I get rushed, but the girls are tough so they can hold long enough for the 2nd squad to come out.

I don't know about chaos though, I haven't tried them out yet. >.>

Haven't been playing for so long.
Hopefully, this gives you an idea, though.

Chaos are some of the best anti-rushers. Cultists are actually suprisingly good with Furious Charge or a Champion, and the basic CSM are pretty good in CC as well.

Make sure that you use Forced Labour on a Heretic so you can build your Chaos Temple faster and build a generator ASAP so you can afford to upgrade your foremost listening posts. Do not use Raptors, they are redundant once you have Berzerkers and are far too expensive.

Do not build turrets straight away, they are a Tier 2 investment. This game is tech or die, and every turret you build is a load of requisition and power gone that you could be using for Armoury upgrades and upgrading your HQ structure.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Hey! Post a replay. We might be able to help you.

It looks to me like you aren't playing aggressively. Perhaps you should consider focusing on getting 2 basic squads and hero out into the enemy's face as soon as possible?

Focus on killing his builders, taking down his strategic points before he LPs them. Tear down his LPs. Do everything you can to make him mad. Tear down his economy. Fight the fights you'll win, run from the fights you'll lose.
