Denizens of Fist City, I'll be in town this weekend (July 17 & 18) to celebrate my good bud's birthday, but since he works all day I'm jonesing to get a game or two in too. Anybody interested? I'd prefer fantasy and/or BFG, but I could lug my CSM along if 40k is the flavor of the day. Barring setting up some games, is there a LGS I can stop by Friday or Saturday and grab a game, shoot the gak, etc?

Thanks for the help, looking forward to some southern throwdowns!

I met a couple guys at 'Ardboyz last week that were up from Richmond. They didn't have much to say about the scene down there. There's a good store in Fredericksburg Va - Game Vault (just do a google search and it will pull up their site).

Normally I'd say it's about 45 mintues drive from Richmond, but on a saturday in the summer, I-95 is going to be a freaking mess. Plus I don't know how much WHFB is played there.

Sadly I think the Richmond Va community took a hurting when the Stony Point GamesWorkshop store shutdown.
There was a group Stony Point Refugees that started playing at another store. I think they have a website at :http://z8.invisionfree.com/Stony_Point_Refugees/
but do not know if its active.

There is active group in Charlottesville which I play in about 45-50 minutes west of Richmond off I-64 that has gaming on weekends.
http://www.theendgamecenter.com is the store we play at.
I hear good things about the group north of Richmond too.

OneEyedJacques in Carytown (Richmond suburb) carries the GW line but I am not sure if they have gamers show up or not.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies lads. I used to live in Cville - graduated from UVA in 2006 - and did some 40k gaming at The Game Place (or similar) and only went to The End once. They had more of a rep for being serious gamers, so never threw down there. Fantasy however I remember was dead in that town, some cheesey Empire player had ruined the game for everyone apparently. But this was before HE, VC, DE, Demons

It looks like there's some BFG going down at Hobbytown in Richmond this Saturday, 10-3. Figure I'll bring the noise fleet out for a spin, see what carnage I can rustle up.
