Just bought a number of guys to start off my Blood Angels army!
This is the thread for those who want to cheer on the awesomeness of the sons of sanguinius, or whinge about how a certain hairy space mutt is better.

List:
-1 Chaplain with Jump Pack, Rosarius and bolt pistol
-5 man Assualt squad (2 plasma pistols), serge has power axe, combat shield and meltabomb.
-5 man Assualt squad (2 plasma pistols), serge has power sword, combat shield and meltabomb.
-5 man Assualt squad (2 plasma pistols), serge has power fist, combat shield and meltabomb.

Not much I know but how cool is it!

Also, amidst all the cheers and moans, I just want to ask a few questions...
1) As my whole army is legal (Chaplain = HQ, and Assualt Marinz = Troops) can my whole army (who all have jet packs) all deepstrike?

2)Strenghts? Weaknesses?

3) Until I get more I'll be allying my witch hunters to reach the 1000pts mark. What should be my next step? (I was think Furisio Dred in Drop pod)

1. Look in the rulebook under Jump Infantry movement.

2. Strengths- Lots of Mobility,
Weakness- Low model count, will struggle against horde armies.

3. I would upgrade the chaplain to Lemartes. For +5 points you gain the extra wound and the Death Mask.

More Assault Marines to beef up your squads, and add the Death Company since you're paying the points for them already.

Predator with heavy bolter sponsons, and a vindicator for anti infantry.

1. Can the WHOLE army deepstrike, or is there some rule against that?

3. Thanks for the advice (That didn't occur to me) but I have to say no. If I get my hands on the model then yes. But I like my chapylan as he is.

More assualt marines yes, but I was also thinking of adding a Furisio in Drop pod to add that little bit of OOMPH, to the army. Not so keen on predator or vindicator though...

1. The army can all deepstrike as they have jump packs.

What will your furioso have? I would have double flamers to help with nids, orks etc

you need anti horde, or you will just get mobbed, really consider, pred with heavy bolters, or if you go furiso take the flamers.

Assault marines are fast attack not troops, well at least as far as i understand it.

In a blood angels army they are troops.

GO BlOOD ANGELS. Nothing to add just encouragement. I am revamping my BA so they aren't fighting yet but they were my first army.

Get a Baal predator, they are unbelievably good for 125 points, even better if you have two! They will rip Ork and other horde armys apart. Plus if you take heavy flamers they get rid of troublesome nob bikers (as long as you can avoid getting them blown up in cc)

But a Baal predator is only a mounted heavy flamer. I mean, Immolators are better becuase they are twin-linked.

Furisio rock! (Still want all army to deepstrike, so i'll give it drop pod.)

1st battle with them today. I allied with two other ultramarine armies to form 2000pts against eldar. It was close, but Dark reapers REALLY ripped a lot of guys to shreds and we ended up finishing with only a chapter master (not marneus), scout squad, and a single Assualt Squad serge from my army. We lost mainly becuase it took more than half our army to kill the avatar and a squad of fire dragons.

That single survivor of mine...I love him. He has meltabomb, combat shield, bolt pistol, and power sword. Charged with three guys into the avatar. 2 friends were killed off quickly but he survived a further 3 turns man-to-monster with the avatar, before the chapter master and co. rushed in. B E A utiful! He then stunned the fire prism on the last turn. (could be better, but meh)

The main problem was suffering that god awful one turn of shooting at the hands of the dark reapers and such before managing to get them into close combat. (Now that I think about it, mabye the avatar wasn't the best choice of target.)

Baal Predetors have a twin linked assault cannon, not a heavy flamer, as there main weapon. You can also kit them out with spondons...usually heavy bolters, giving ten shots. Four of which are rending.

Live and learn. In my last battle my SM opponent kept shooting at my Falcons for three turn with no affect while my Reapers and Dire Avengers took out two squads and rhino.

oh come on, gutteridge! It's just a joke. Everyone loves Russ. He's the only primarch who lets you pet him and rub his belly. But you have to frequently bathe him and take him for walks...

Woot! Yay another BA player! Also I would make a squad not have jump packs and give them a rhino. Or even a 5 man squad and a razor back for some objective camping. If you get stuck on an objective with 12 inch range guys thats just no fun.

Assualt Squads without jump packs? HERESY!!!
