2xleman russes-1 with lascannon and HB sponsons, other had HB and HB sponsons,(they were seperate)

First i deployed choose which buildings had ammo store and power generator, and set up my las maze and force pylons so that he was effectivly boxed against his drop-zone. I then set up, choosing to place my men along the whole board, with both tanks, farseers and wraithlords in one half, the two guardian squads in the other, Asurmen and his DA squad were in the Wave Serpent, the 6 man SS squad in the Falcon, the other i kept i kept in reserve to outflank with.

As he chose Scorched Skies as one of his stratagems, my opponent dropped 15 firestorm templates, which were mainly focused on my tanks, stunning both, my Vibrocannon got caught under one, and blew up, about 7 or so of his templates scattered enough to be placed touching nothing. His first turn saw a company command squad along with 2 Infantry squads and the Vets. The Ratlings outflanked, rather unfortunatly behind my 16 man Guardian squad. In his shooting phase he unleashed his other stratagem, Metoer Strike, which, due to some very unlucky rolling, and poor placement, scattered off the table. His Vet squad popped my War Walker with a melta gun. not much else happened that turn.

In my turn, the Wraithlord with the wraithsword slowly walked towards the Guard squads. both Farseers guided each wraithlord, and the one with the singing spear doomed a guard squad, while the other eldritch stormed said guard squad, killing two, they subsequently failed their morale chack, and went to ground. the wraithlord with wraith sword shot the same squad, and only managed to kill about 4. I continued my shooting phase with my 16 man Guardian squad turning around and wiping out the ratlings, with their massed shuriken catapult fire. The command squad with a the other Wraithlord shot at the command squad, killing two men, one from the command squad, one from another squad, both passed their pinning check, while the wraithlords BL did nothing.

end of turn 1, i was winning 2-0

The beginning of Turn 2 saw both Leman Russes lumbering onto the borad, one at each end. The only movement he had was to move his remaining Guard squads, into base contact with 2 objectives. His shooting phase saw one of the Russes take out the tl-brighlance on my Wave Serpent, and kill the remaining Guardian manning the destroyed vibrocannon. he also wounded the wraithsword equipped Wraithlord. He attempted a pot shot with a Meltagun against my Falcon, which missed.

I started my turn by bringing on my Striking Scorpion squad I had in reserve, in a failed outflank attempt, that left them against a Russ. my other Striking Scorpion squad and my DA, jumped out of their respective transports. the wraithlord with the wraithsword walked lowly towards the other leman russ, and as he had to go through the las maze, he had to take a dangerous terrain check, which he passed. the DA and Asurmen moved for a clearer shot against the command squad, and the Striking Scorpions moved closer towards the infantry squad in the ruins. in my shooting ohase, i bladestormed my DA avenger squad against the command squad, wiping them all out, though in hindsight, i probaly should have just shot normally. My assault phase saw my striking scorpion squad that was in the wave serpent charge against the squad in cover, my wrathsworded wraithlord charge against a russ, with my other Striking scorpion squad charging the other russ. The Infantry squad that my 6 man Striking Scorpion squad charged didn't get a chance to hit any of my Scorpions, before they were dead. i mobiled and took off a battle cannon from one Leman Russ, and took off the hull mounted HB, and imobilised the other.

end of turn 2- i was winning 4-1

we had to call it a day there as we both had to go, so i won my first game of planetstrike
