Searching through a bookshop for Dark Heresy books I randomly came across a copy of Legends of the High Seas and aught it. I have not had much of a chance to look htrought it but assumed that it was a themed Mordheim affair that would cater for all my Plundering needs (and have therefore assumed that this is the best place for this thread?) . It looked rather cool to me and i'm hoping to recreate those long sessions of Sid Meyers Pirates with in miniature.

Has anyone had a chance to play this yet? How are you finding it? What miniatures do you recommend?

Also I seem to remember there being a Warhammer Ahoy! fan game created, is this a tie in?

Well I have played it, because I was the guy who wrote it! So if you have any questions about it let me know and i will answer them.

As for how I am finding it, well I rather like it, but I may have a certain biase towards it

As for figures, there are many out there, it depends on which company you want to use. Foundry has a good line and there is also Crusader, Black Scorpion, Black Cat Bases, Old Glory, Dixon, Reaper and the list goes on and on. My current collection has Foundry, Old Glory as well as Crusader & Black Scorpion. The Black Scorpion models are some of the best models out there, although they are on the larger side of 28mm.

Tim Eagling who wrote Warhammer Ahoy, helped me with the Ship Combat since I loved his work for Warhammer Ahoy. The main rules are based on the LotR system which is another game system I love. You will also see ties to Mordheim & Necromunda in there, no surprise I love those games as well.

Hope you enjoy the game and if you have questions let me know...

Tim,

I wasn't expecting the author to post a reply so a double thanks to you!

As I say, i've not read it yet but it made enough of an impression on me to put down £20 as soon as I saw it.

Will this book be the whole project or are you planning any further supplement?

Well I have been lurking on Dakka for awhile since I am a gamer first and fore most. So when I saw this thread I figured i better respond

I had plans to do another book, which would have given the players more Crews to choose from (Nationalities like French, Spanish, Chinese, Etc) as well as introducing Corsairs from Africa. I also wanted to go more in depth into Campaigns and utilize Mark Lathams Trafalgar rules for Pirate Fleet actions. But since Warhammer Historical has had some internal restructure I have not heard back from them for a second book. So it looks like they (Warhammer Historical) are not interested in doing another book.
