Hey guys, I've got a bit of a problem here.

Recently, I was convinced that the gaming group at my lgs has had enough of me. This is the store where I started 40k and have been going to for not even a year.

Let's start at the 40k tourney my lgs held last week, because that's when I got the idea. People were asking me if I had any outbursts or meltdowns or broken models yet because I was losing. This was a stretch, because (I confess) I am a bit of a bad sport, but not THAT bad. Then later on people were telling me how I'm so miserable that I'll never get games with people because it'd be horrible for them and thus I should quit. I was pretty angry at this point, and these people just kept saying stuff like this. To make matters worse, the tourney organizer (who works at this store) wasn't even supervising, so there wasn't gak that I could do about it. To top it off, he had also snapped at me earlier that week for not talking loud enough. I don't talk so much, so I'm not the loudest person, and when I'd go to this store I'd usually chat with him, and we'd also chat over MSN.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I've been b!tched out.

I'm now considering going to a different store to play 40k. They've recently started running games like this other lgs, and I know the guys who work there, it's also friendlier.

I don't know what to do. Should I go to the other store, or continue going to this lgs?

The way your story is written I think you answer your own question. If you do start playing at another store, make sure you figure out what you're doing to piss off your current store and not do it there.

Yeah, I hate to say it but it's pretty rare that someone is chewed out by so many people without cause.

Getting a fresh start could be good, but only if you've changed from how you were prior.

I'd love to hear some of the other people's points of view. I'd recommend figuring out what people don't like about you and try to fix it when you move to another store. From the sound of things you'll have a hard time getting a game at your current venue so it can't hurt to move to a new one. I'll admit that I get frustrated when I start making stupid mistakes myself. I've never been driven out of a FLGS but I've certainly gotten my share of bad vibes from people. I've played in a lot of different stores, though, and the types of players from store to store can vary a lot. Find a store that has people that you can get along with.

That's the thing, they sure as hell didn't seem pissed. Some of them found this funny even. Even if I was doing something to piss them off, I wouldn't know.

Then keep going and don't sweat it. Maybe your instincts are off. If people are willing to play you every week then there probably isn't anything wrong. When you just can't get a game anymore then it's time to switch stores.

Maybe they were just busting your chops.

I'd hang out at the new shop and drop by the old shop only to ruin their tournaments...by winning them all!

Make sure to let the store owner know that your consumer dollars are going elsewhere too

Go to the other store. It seems like a couple of people have a beef with you.

Just ask yourself this question, Which shop will you have more fun at?

If you can answer that question then you should be able to answer your own question.

You need to accept that sometimes.....your face just doesn't fit!

I don't want to rule out the prospect that you may or may not be doing something that gets people off on the wrong foot, but then again, some people are just ass hats and desire nothing more than to find a victim.

At the end of the day, (other than it being night time) the hobby is all about having fun, if it ceases to be fun then you need to change something, that something might be your attitude, or it might be the people you hang out with.....either way, you'll never find the answer on here, because noone knows you well enough to truley judge your situation.
