Well I went to Ard boys in Sacramento! Let me introduce yourself and give you all my very first Battle Report! I am Jesse Chenoweth and I am from Dragons Roost Eagle Point in Oregon. I played Orks and I am not a very experienced player and I changed my list...a lot before I left and it went untested!

Here is how it went!

Round 1:
Orks Vs Chaos Space Marines

Well I will do my best to remember what happened as it was a VERY long day! I made bad...BAD deployment choices. I got to go first, So it was a...pitched battle and Annihilation I think. I put my Nobs on warbikers and my trukk with Nobs and pain boy in the corner of the table...dunno why I did that. Then spread my Shoota ard boys and my other shoota troop on two different sides. Put my Slugga coppa boys in the center and then placed my Killa cans / Deff dread and my HQ's. A Warboss and Big Mek where ever I thought was a good idea to start them off at!

Later in the game he gave me some suggestions on stuff. I am used to playing with skimmers with my tau and completely forgot they can deploy in the front on the vehicle. So by turn 3-4 when by bikers and trukk were FINNALY able to make it to combat..and half my army was gone with his still just dandy...stupid ...demon lash thing! I dunno...chaos is a real pain in the rear. He gave me the option of helpin me out which was really cool..but..I gotta learn my mistaks..another is that the last turn instead of shooting my dakka guns at his two guys he had left in his troop...so I can get three points from the game instead of ZERO points. Before I shot he asked if I wanted to assualt three of his troops....Which I still have no clue on the rules on assualting multi troops...I mean hey! The army I was using was like 98% borrowed stuff!
I dont have enough tau or good at tau to use them in a tourny like that yet. Was nice but I didn't really wanted extra points like that. I gotta learn not to do that kinda stuff so I just went ahead and shot!

I only got 91 points...which I think were called victory or scoring points...I cant remember. Basically it was used to break ties between people!

So I got massacred!

Round 2: Round 2 went a little better. I assualted stuff. I got dawn of war so I put two of my troops at the center line to screw him on deployment...I SHOULD had f$@)%^*@
remembered that my Nobs on a warbike was a troop choice! He put out a tank and ONE HQ first turn in the corner of the table. If I had put my bikes in. I am pretty sure I could had EASILY assulted and killed the only stuff he had out during that turn. He kept using "REALLY" cheap ARD moves and kept rushing me during the last two minutes of the game. IF he was not rushing me so badly the objective would had been contested and I would not had gotten massacred again.


Final Round:

I played against one of the guys who I went with. Rickey! It was MUCH easier playing Space Marines and I know more of how to use orks against him. by turn two I had alread taken out one of his troops that droped in Via drop pod. His army just was not built proporly enough and I squashed him.

So by the end of the game. I got the Objective..Killed out a bunch of his army so I got a Major victory!

I came in 22 / 26 In the Ard Boys that day...I had a little fun but I was hoping to at least place top ten...oh well I will get stronger and crush them next year.

Starting out with orks can be pretty scary cause everything... I mean EVERYTHING in the ork codex can be the game changing uber unit. I suggest playing some ork games with a very basic army type (foot sloggas, Mech, etc) with only a few specialized units not overtaking all your points. Once you have a good grasp on things, Then start testing out the bikernobs and other super pricey things. Some guys you REALLY need to try (fell in love first time) are Snickrot and Zagstruck. Snickrot can move his komandos (and any attacked Independent characters) on from ANY table edge from reserve. In love.
