I recently started playing Dawn of War II and i really do love it. I am about 2/3rds of the way through the campaign on primarch but i have yet to play online.

Since campaign and multiplayer are worlds apart i was going to wait to dive into that when my friend gets his together. I want to play as either Tyranids or Orks since i hear almost everyone is Space Marines and i really hate the way Eldar look.

Anyone have any good tips or tactics for using Orks or Tyranid? My friend is usually Eldar so it would be nice to be able to back him up the best i can.

Thanks Dakka!

Tyranids can do silly things. Termagants are crazypowerful when they're in synapse and in large numbers, but they still have pathetic health. The big, gribbly monsters are pretty nasty if you can get them into the fray fast enough without getting in each other's way. The Hive Tyrant is a very powerful melee fighter too, and Carnifexes are stupidpowerful and you can build multiples of them.

Orks recently got a buff I think, so Slugga Boyz do a lot more damage now. The Warboss is very powerful in CC, the Mekboy is a good shooting commander and has useful abilities, and I haven't tried the Kommando Nob yet.

Play against the AI on a fake LAN game first to try stuff out. Just remember that Space Marines are really tough and three Marines will steamroll 5 Boyz.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

When playing as nids, make sure to have at least three squads of Gaunts for swarming the other players troops. Use Alpha Ravener with anti tank upgrade, healt upgrade and damage synaps. Get one ravener squad and use that for harrasing. Then get a Warrior Brood with barbed strangler and use that as support. Harras the other dudes power nodes.

Then go to T2, and get a Carnifex. Then save to T3 and upgrade Fex and get a Scream Killer

Yeah ive been trying out every army online and i have to say i like orks with Kommando nob leading it the most

INCOMING NEWB QUESTION
ok i cant figure out how to reinforce units, i thought you just had to leave it at the base and it would automatically but i left a squad of slugga boyz at the base for a solid 15 minutes and didnt get a single boy back
I know its probably just a button or something im missing but this info would help me A LOT

Also, is there a command i can give my troops so they stay in one spot and attack everything in range but dont chase?
