Hello, I'm a fairly nocturnal (trying to change) individual who is collecting an army of Orks, combining both speed freeks and foot sloggers under one roof, though probably not the same table. I've been reading the forums and stuff here for a while, both for help and inspiration, just never got around to actually making an account. When I recently finished stage one of my stock GW battlewagon I figured I'd post some pictures up and see what people have to say about it.

Other than that, I'm a sophomore biology student in the Framingham, Massachusetts area that is very disappointed that there isn't anywhere to game at within walking distance of the college. Though I think there used to be a GW store in the Natick Mall, which is walking distance. Not there anymore though, sadly.

My friends play either nothing, D&D, or Warmachine, all except for the one that got me into the game. So most of them have no interest in playing Warhammer 40k. Though I bet I could convert them by playing Dark Heresy and slowly easing them into the grimdark future.

I guess that's it. Hello DakkaDakka.

Welcome to Dakka, mate!
So you're the only faithful one to 40k in your group?

Thanks!

I have one other friend, but he attends a school on the other side of the state. The other people I hang out with are either open to wargaming or completely ignorant and unable to even say "yeah, that's kinda cool," instead with the mindset "TOY SOLDIERS IS FOR KIDS." Nobody has money so getting miniatures to play with is difficult or impossible, but there's always proxies.

A lot of them get really annoyed when I talk about 40k, there was one kid that responded with 40k stuff, but never played. He's not around anymore though.

Our time shall come, muffin person.
Soon. Very Soon...

Seriously though, it always helps to look in the magazine (Do you have White Dwarf there?) it lists all the nearby FLGS...so it should help.

I don't have a White Dwarf anywhere near me, nor do I have the pennies to pay for one right now, I did just purchase a bunch of Orks a month ago.

I do know where the FLGSs are though. The closest one to me, is a forty minute drive on a toll road. There was another one about a half hour away that closed recently.

I was thinking of trying to get a gaming club started on campus. I know a couple professors who like miniature modeling and painting and whatnot, as well as some math nerds who might enjoy the game. So sponsoring a club wouldn't be an issue. Funding and advertising would be the hard part.
