Hey guys, I just started playing 40k last week and i'm addicted. Obviously, I don't have much of an army or figs or anything, but I plan on getting really into this. For now, i'm gonna run ultramarines, but when the new space wolves codex comes out this fall, i might switch. For now, I love ultramarine versatility and high armor saves. Thanks and can't wait for my next match!

You don't have to paint regular marines as Ultrasmurfs(get used to that term). (sigh face palm) If you do play SW please don't paint them as the light coloured marines we see today. PLEASE!!!Welcome.

Welcome to Dakka! You should make a DIY chapter. You get to use the vanilla SM codex and come up with your own army and color scheme.

Oh, I already am. I guess it is sad, because i have read almost all the codex's (well, not the fluff, but the units themselves), and just can't get away from the smurfs. My friends have already let me in on the disdain, but they are versatile (to me) and i love that. Oh well, i might change in a few weeks. It is still early in my 40k campaign, haha.

You should really do DIY, that way you make your own colors but keep all the ultrasmurf's rules...

So far, I like dakka. With a little digging, I'm finding answers to so many questions, some I didn't even have until I found the question. This is more helpful than the actual rule book. Thanks guys! Also, a very warm and friendly place to be. Possibly from the firefights.
