Up North

So I'm just about ready to launch myself into being DM of a DH group, after looking at the rules I wandered if some people drop certain rules eg the kilogram thing or any other rules which slow down the game, also is there any where the damage charts, weapon charts, baddie characteristics can be downloaded so I can have them ready for easy reference? Oh I'm planning on running Illumination first any bits I should cut out or add to that? Thanks

Around Montreal

I just started a campaign of my own with others who never played, but most are familiar with the 40k universe, thanks to Dawn of War.
It went pretty well.

The only thing I really dropped was the weight carried, I prefer to guess-rule when the characters are carrying too much.

For the gear charts, it's not super useful to have them all printed since players should write their weapon stats on their character sheets anyway... But those are another problem. We found out, after writing all the starting traits and talents, that there barely was any room left. I think I'll make my own DH sheets pretty soon.

Crit Damage charts would be useful but I bought the GM screen and they tell you what page the charts are so that's enough for me.

For baddies, I always either write them down on my game notes, or at least write the page where the stats are.

I don't think any of this is downloadable. There are a few interresting goodies available, but no charts or anything else that is found in the books.

Forever alone

Dropping things like eating and removing the limit on baggage (to an extent) is something a lot of RPG groups seem to do, just for the sake of speeding things up and avoiding interruptions.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Just make sure your players don't abuse the weight allowance thing...
Many's the time I've had to ask a character "exactly HOW are you carrying a Chainsword, 2 Bolt pistols, A Shotgun and a Heavy Bolter while wearing carapace armour?" or equivalent.

As for the tables - try the Dark Forums on the FFG site.
