Hello all!

I think I first found this website about eight years ago or something, in my fanatical 40k stage. I was only young but I had Orks, plasticard and paint coming out of my ears!

Unfortunately the lure of money via eBay led to me selling every model I owned. Recently, I've been lured back in! I've found myself lurking around here, in awe at some of these paintjobs and conversions and I just can't wait to get back into it.

I absolutely adore armies like these:

...something a little different that really makes it look unique!

After many hours of pondering, I came up with the cunning plan of using the Ork models (that I know and love), but using human heads and painting them a human flesh colour......sort of a 'barbarian' army if you like? I could come up with my own background story and really be creative with it, and to me that just sounds ideal!

Slight problem, need some bigger heads!

I know there are plenty of miniature companies other than GW out there, that do miniatures in larger sizes (I was thinking 35mm), and maybe I'd be able to get some heads from there that would be more of an appropriate size for my human hulks. Anyway, I'll throw a question regarding that in a more appropriate conversion forum.

Many apologies for rambling on!

Keep up the good work,

Orkyben.

you will probably be looking at somat along the lines of 1/32 scale minis like airfix who have just started re selling. please don't confuse these with originals from the 60's and 70's. To take a knife to these would be a shame. Corner sops usually stock cheaper remoulds of them, which are smaller in size due to the shrinkage from recasting, but the detail and flash will be gross.
