Hello all! I watched a TV commercial and thought I need a new hobby to waste my cash on. I’m a returning player from the WH40K third ed. days. Sadly I don’t have any of the models left . Also, sadly they removed the big giant foot template for the orks . This time I decide to take it slow and do a better job than I did back then. I bought the new Talisman from Fantasy Flight games that way I could get some good practice at prepping and painting. Now the top three things I’m looking forward to about getting back into miniatures 1) Eating large amounts of Doritos and drinking lots of soda. 2) Rediscovering my inner geek 3) Getting unbelievably lucky dice rolls at the most critical point in a game. Now the top three things I’m not looking forward to about getting back into miniatures 1) Having a hobby knife slip and cut me 2) Playing a game with a rules lawyer and/or losing to a 12 year old with a cheese Space Marines army . 3) Getting unbelievably unlucky dice rolls at the most critical point in a game.

Now a little about me I’m 28 years old 6 feet tall (not sure what that is in cm) weigh 170lbs (not sure what that is in kilo’s or stones). I work as a bartender at a swingers club no I’m not in the lifestyle and don’t ask me about it thank you. I live in Georgia, USA and if you know where a good place to play in Atlanta is please let me know. I use to play at a place called The War Room which is apparently closed.

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More than likely I will do orks again. I have been lurking on dakka for a bit and it seems they got a decent upgrade in the codex. Plus da boyz are 6 points apiece so I can run a true mob now . The only down side I can see is they took out all the zany re-rolls, whacky results, and an utter lack of independent characters . I will also start a small Tyranid force to try and drag my brother back into the fold .

Welcome!

I live in Atlanta and there are a few good places around town to play. Not sure what part of town you're in but here are some places:

Hobby Hangout in Douglasville, this is where I usually play.
Hobbytown in Kennesaw
Treefort Games in Fayetteville, I come here often as well.
Phoenix Games up in Buford, only played there once but it is a top notch place. Just too far from me.
Gigibites Cafe in Marietta
Gaming Pit in Norcross
There is a place out in Carrollton, can't remember the name though.

There may be other places as well.

Sorry just got in from work and had to get my Jack D on first, now I can post.

Esk3-->The gaming pit is very close to me. Do you have a practice army maybe we can set a "play date"? PM me if you feel up to teaching a newbie the 5th ed. ropes.

Shadowbrand-->Where is this Atlantica you speak of maybe Sherman burned it down.
