Well hello there. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Due to having knee surgery a little while ago and not really having anything to do for 2 months afterwards, I recently got back into the hobby after a 13 or 14 year break from it. I'm not even sure what it was got me back on the wargaming trip, but I'd wager it probably had something to do with the Dawn of War games on PC.
Way back when, I played Ultramarines in 3rd Ed 40K and Wood Elves in WHFB. This time round I had no intention of playing WHFB and decided to concentrate on 40K. First army I started was IG, but then something strange happened. I absolutely fell in love with the fluff and models for Tau. Probably because back in my day (I sound so old. I'm only 29! Wait, is 29 too old to be getting back into this?) there were no Tau. So I've been collecting ever since. Not sure how many points I'm currently at, I must actually get round to counting that up. Oh, I bought an Eldar Battleforce too. Might do something with that at some point.
But then I figured I hadnt given GW enough of my cash, so I went down the WHFB route too. I had intended to play Skaven, but then changed my mind and went with Vamps. But I have the Skaven Battalion and a few blisters knocking about, so I may yet do something with that. I also decided to go back to my roots (I guess that could be a pun? A play on words if you will?) and collect Wood Elves again. The Battalion arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I'm getting further with that than I am with my Vamps.
Um, other than that, I live in Belfast in N.Ireland, I'm 29 and I'm an Engineer. Hopefully my post reads coherently and I dont come across as too much of a dick!
Anyway, thats me for now!

I seem to follow your profile, I had a hiatus for about twelve years, and currently still going through the 'regret that big style' stage...
LOL!!
can I just say, I have choicecantmakeaphobia too, currently have plans to get and escher gang to go with my delaque, a chaos space marine army (seen the new defiler? thats a new model right there! a beast too), an eldar army, a dwarf whfb army and an empire whfb army, oh, also my personal quest to own every single BB figure ever.
Hell, when it's a hobby, it's never enough.
I think we're all welcome back too, so welcome back!
OOOH, wait wait, see the new space hulk? holy....

Thank you kindly sir! I'll keep an eye out for those symptoms. I'm affraid I may already have at least one! Find out next week which one it is!

I think I spent more money the two months I was off work than I had in the entire preceeding year. Damn you GW and your plastic men that I just cant seem to have enough of. Thats actually probably a terrible affliciton.
I HAVE seen the new Space Hulk. If I didnt have the original collecting dust at my parents house I would maybe consider it. I'm pretty sure I have Heroquest and Space Crusade back there too!

If you have old games collecting dust ebay it, there are even ebay shops who will give you a good price for near mint stuff.
Get on it!
And then bask in the glory of the beautiful new space hulk figures...
Can I just say, slightly OT, but plastic models when I was going serious before, in the mid-nineties, compared to now? Wow.

All my old GW stuff is in my parents attic. I'm sure one day I will make the journey back home to dig them out, but last time I was in that attic I wasnt found for 2 weeks. Alright, not really, but there's a LOT of stuff up there. I know I had an Ultramarines army, a Wood Elf army, and an Undead army (mummys and everything) but they've all miraculously vanished over the years. My brothers had Ork armies for both 40K and WHFB but again, nobody seems to know where they are.
Not that worried about the Ultramarines as I'm trying to stay away from those guys, but the Woodsters and the Undead (minus the mummys) would have been super useful. Ah well.
Anyway, that got slightly OT! Thanks for making me feel welcome here guys.
