New to Dakka, but very very old to 40k. I first found my first miniatures while working at a comic shop back in high school. Some of the customers saw me painting and invited me to come see what they were actually for. There I saw my first space marines in action, and saw Eldar squished flat by a rhino with power fields. (yes I started in 1st ed. lol) Totally fascinated! The fact that my best friend was pushing the rhino and was hooked instantly didn't improve my chances of non-addiction. I painted my first Space Wolf soon after, because rainbow warriors looked far to difficult for me en masse. (Just traded them away last weekend) I dropped out of the game shortly before 3rd ed, my best friend and most of the rest of our group having moved away. Best friend moved back after the '3.5' edition and set me back on track, then took me to my first tourney. I was hooked all over again, and haven't looked back.

Since the beginning I've collected Emporer's Children, which are nearly all lead (again, dating myself). Tyranids, because after 2 versions of Space Hulk and one of Tyranid Attack you almost have to. I'm currently working on Iybraesil Eldar and quite proud of the multiple conversions and detail work I've done with them.

I also now have a rather large Ork army from the aforementioned trade. I've always wanted to play orks, they seem fun, I just never wanted to paint aaaaaaallll those boyz. Luckily, I traded them already painted. Just some vehicle work to do. I've also got most of a Sisters of Battle army sitting in a box. Waiting. I'm in no rush to paint them.

Several years ago I had the opportunity and motive to purchase the FLGS from the young owner who's brain had been eaten by a MMORPG. It was a fun time and I learned lots about business, the gaming industry, made plenty of friends and wound up with far, far too many hobbies. The downward turn of the economy forced me to close up shop though.

*whew*

Anyway, I am a transplant to Northeast GA from a strange land far deeper south. High humidity and a rather large Storm made me re-consider my non-migratory status and off I went.

Nope nope! No ultramarine here. In fact I'm free of Imperial influence now. Well... at least until I'm done with my Eldar and then finish the Ork army I just got. I do have a Sisters army in a box. At the bottom of a pile in the corner of the 'geekery' (my 2nd bedroom)

No, I just always use that blue font color when I post to our 'home' forum, but the background here is different, so I've changed the color slightly. better? It's a little closer to my Iybraesil craftworld so that should be more comfy.

I do need to get some photos of my Emporer's Children. I don't think I have any, save for a couple of incidentals I found.
I've been planning on touching them up, and my Keeper of Cattle ('Greater Daemon') *grumble* is sitting on my workstation since s/he fell off the base. I have a campaign battle soon and I just haven't played them in forever. (don't even have the new codex gah!!) I'll try and get some newer photos soon.
