With the release of the trailer (see below) it seems that the sequel to the popular MMORPG Guildwars is to be released soon, what are dakkites thoughts on this?
For those unfamiliar with the game the actual in game footage doesnt start until about halfway into the video.
I played a little bit of the original, but it never really grabbed me. The video for this looks pretty good though. Also, if I can play as a giant armored polar bear then I am in.

I bought the original for my wife. She played it for about 3 weeks and I tried a little of it. Bought it about a year ago. It has spent the majority of that year under my bed somewhere.

So long as it has lots of player interaction and emphasis on MMO, I'll be happy. Thats what put me off the first one. It said 'mmorpg' on the box, but played like a single player game.
To quote the Channel 4 show, Peep Show: "I'm cancelling out of shame, like my subscription to White Dwarf"
i got the first guild wars... it is a good game. it has its faults yes, but overall well worth the $20.
the only real problems i have with the game are.
1. no jumping... WTF, you mean i have to walk for 10 min to get around that 3 foot tall wall?!?!?!? 2. no swimming... you really should be able to go underwater as well, none of that LOTRO crap with only swimming on top (LOTRO is still good game)
i have mixed fealings with PVP, its nice to be able to walk around and fight other players (like WoW) but with that you get the arsehole high lvls that like to camp the lower lvl areas and gank people (like WoW) but i can stand not being able to fight people in the world so long as they include some sort of PvP (which they will)
so going to make a charr for my first toon
i sopose i should finish up the first guild war so i have at least some clue whats going on. but i dont wanna buy nightfall and eye of the north .
if done correctly, this could give wow a run for its money. humans, elves, and furries check, but unlike WoW this game is FREE TO PLAY.

Im in the same camp as envy really; the original was let down by its on track mind and its lack of a accessable 3D, i mean sure you can walk up and down mountains and hills but thats just following the ground with the illusion of heigh rather than actually moving on a z-axis.
GW2 should fix all that and add alot more amazing features, deffinatly will play as a charr (they get bazooka's for gods sake ).
