*sips milk from brandy glass* I see....most interesting.

Discuss.

(Note: I remember reading this somewhere recently...can't remember there. Do you guys think these are Necron anti-Chaos devices making the Cadian gate exist in the Eye of Terror? Is Cadia a tomb world!!!! :O. also if someone can refresh my memory as to where it said this that'd be mucho appreciated. I think it might have been CSM dex but dont hold me on that."

And Inquisitor Quixos could have closed the Eye of Terror if it wasn't for those meddling kids!

I think they're more like ancient stone obelisks rather than electricity pylons

I thought they were what Necrons used as weapons.

I thought there were massive back obelisks on one of the moons of cadia or one of the near by planets rather than cadia itself. They were described as being massive stone towers rather than necron pylons (although they were covered in necron-like iconography). I also thought that they were destoryed some how.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?

Yes, if you read the 13th Black Crusade book it's pretty clear. They are Necron anti-warp devices. Their existence is the reason that the Cadian Gate is stable in the face of the Eye of Terror.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Also, Cadia isn't -in- the eye. It's just brushing up against it and tickling the Eye's nether regions

So as long as the Necrons don't decide to cruise by and shut the pylons off for a laugh the gate's more or less OK?

That explains so much. . .
Maybe its just that "eye" has been misinterpreted.

Gathering the Informations.

Yes, there's a book about the 13th Black Crusade. It's creatively titled: The 13th Black Crusade, and it's a resource book from the Black Library and was published shortly after the end of the campaign. It's written from the perspective of a Commissar attached to Ursukar Creed's command staff.

As for the Pylons:
They're not just present on Cadia. They're present on several worlds within the system, in various states of disrepair. When the Black Crusades start coming and the Warp begins getting more turbulent, the Pylons fire up and it gets calmed noticeably. Cults have sprung up on Cadia itself and the other worlds that use the Pylons as symbols of the end times, etc.
