Well hi everyone!

I've actually never played 40k in the past like I've read some of you have. But a lot of people at the game shop I go to play... so I suppose that's how I got into it. I was looking up 40k models on the GW website and found that Eldar were the most aesthetically pleasing to me. Being a fantasy nerd, the whole "Space-Elves" sorta thing caught my eye. I read about them a bit and borrowed the codex from one of my friends and read up on their history.

So far I have 10 DAs almost completely painted (just touching up some stuff... so pics soon). Still working on a good army list to eventually own and paint.

But I'm excited to learn more stuff and get input from other players (who I'm sure are better than me right now ) and eventually be able to give advice to other peeps too.

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.

Welcome.

I started with Eldar as well. Being wholly immersed in the fluff I always tried to keep everyone alive. And consequently everyone always died. Horribly.

Eventually I learned that like chess, in 40K one exchanges peices with one's opponent, to a certain extent. Expect to loose a lot of your little men at first. Eventually, the tide will turn.

D20 has done to good roleplaying the same thing that McDonalds and Starbucks have done to good hamburgers and good coffee, respectively. Phasmaphobic
