Heh, well i've only just got SH and find myself in the predicament that the wife only likes to play it when she wins and my kids are just too young for the exceptionally spikey stealers.

So Solo rules!

Now back in Deathwing Era there were some solo rules which i'll post here as soon as i can figure out where and how (new forum)
For my own enjoyment i did the following.

The Objective is sweep and clean/seek and destroy (feel free to play metallica loudly whilst you play this game)

After playing a game of Suicide mission with the wife i decided to test out my solo idea, so i placed extra doors throughout the board effectively blocking off all passageways.
i then placed a random blip counter on each section of board except the marine starting point!
i placed 2 in each room.

now the board is loaded up i placed the space marines in their starting point. i chose the squad setup from the mission but feel free to alter this.

I'll just quickly explain the blip rules, Blips do not move during this game. It is assumed (story bit) that the adaptus techpriests have vented nerve gas into the ship but instead of slaying the genestealers it just gave them all the effects of a frat party hang over and they're somewhat lethargic and sickly atm so all they want to do is lurk around the place.
blips can only be revealed/activated but are done so by the marine player.
a blip is activated if spotted directly by a marine player (los) by which it is flipped over and the stealers placed and are free to move their next turn.
the only other way a blip can be activated is if it is within 12 squares of a space marine and rolls 4, 5, or 6 on a D6 during the stealer reinforcement turn.
at which time its flipped over and the stealers are placed and are free to move THAT TURN!

okay, with me on that one?
kewl.

Now sequence of play:
Marine command phase:
pick one randomly shuffled command point from your deck, you cannot re-pick. (why? simple. adds randomness to the game)
Marine Action phase:
Flip over timer and move and shoot/go into overwatch etc as normal, any genestealers that are revealed can be shot at etc etc.

Stealer Reinforcement phase.
you do not place any more blips for this, although i may add varient rules later.
as stated check your blips to see if they are within 12 tiles distance of a marine, if so roll a 4, 5 or 6 for each SECTION rather then blip.
yes i said section, so if you have a room with 2 blips in both are activated yet only one may be within 12 tiles.
place the stealers on the board and they are free to move during the action phase.
Stealer Action Phase:
Stealers ALWAYS move toward the nearest marine, otherwise they attack etc as normal.

that was about it tbh, you just follow all other rules for shooting/hth and whatnot.
its not much but it was fun at least, and difficult when you get to a dense area and suddenly all the blips activate (eek)
