Out of curiosity...... other then fixing the rules.....

What would everyone like to se there favorite armies obtain unit wise?

Me I'm doing some customing.... with 40k bits.... I know it's wrong.... but it feels so write

- I'm using space marine jump backs to give the Red Blok some jump troops.

- I'm painting up a WWII Metilda Tank model as a Transport..... ya the collective will not wait as it did for the Yaga.... Not on my watch.

- And I've got a few Cadin Imperial guard Heavy weapons teams to make up Red Blok heavy weapon sqauds. I just can't see why there's no support artillery......

- And why aren't rockets indirect fire?

So..... ya anyone else

It doesnt make sense for rockets to be indirect fire . They are called RPG for a reason " rocket propelled grenades "
they travel in a straight line , with nothing to lock on ( which is why Red Blok RPG have such a short range ) in the RB codex
they specifically said why they used RPG instead of missiles , because the RB ATVs doesnt have an ID system , and the missles
were locking onto their own tanks lol .

PERSONALLY I love "dedicated" anti afv or anti infantriy AFV, in terms of red blok the type * striders are basically anty inf so i have a lot to select, but I would like type ** to be more specialized, for example Hussar with two missile launchers or Hetman with two anti tank cannons

i love the Blok, and I would like no more than that... maybe a real timofiyeva though...

I want real tanks for UNA and RB... sure walkers are fun and edgy and all sci fi, but real tanks with treads and turrets and main guns would be cool.

And nothing wrong with MODing figures. I do it... nothing wrong with it at all.

I have a GI Joe toy that I'll be moding for a Karman transport.... Since the Karman are in Power Armor, I would think they have all they need, ie recycling air and other "stuff" so I'm making the transport so the Karman clip themselves to the outside of it with a small place to stand. This gives them the ability to quickly disengage and drop off while the transport is hovering.... and units like Anakongas could just drop off while in flight.

It sounds like you are making whole new units though.... ie RB infantry with Jump packs...

As I was growing up I was told I could be anything I wanted.... so I became an donkey-cave.

Generic vehicle officers sgt to colonel. Not every vehiclec bneeds every officer grade but there should be two for each vehicle plus sgt.

Red Blok

Smoke grenades. i am house ruling a playtest for a fix for Red Blok. Any grenade or mortar weapon may fire smoke instead, all smoke from a unit must be combined into one smoke template. One item of smoke intervening adds cover but the cover save is negatable by any equipment that negates stealth. Two or more items of smoke intervening grant stealth.
So far itv looks like a big equlaiser and lets Reb Blok close effectively.

Getting the twin Atcannon hetman would be nice and an AtCannon and locked missile armed walker.

UNA

More alternate variants for each vehicle. Just sell resin weapons and cars so that Fire Crawler and Defender snake turrets can be swapped with new alternate loadouts.

They have pretty much all they need, if anything they need less. Less Babylon Zero for a start.

Wow yes now see this is why I love forms..... the ideas!

smoke grenades... Awesome! and I agree with the tanks. Tanks would be better. But the striders are good too.... but the tanks shuld be there for transports and heavy weapons. But I don't have the heart to sub in 40K tanks.... It'd just seem wrong.

As for the RPG stuff. An shoulder fired RPG is more a line of sight weapon. But the strider ones seem more like the katosha (sorry don't know the spelling) rockets the Russians used as artillery in WWII. THey weren't line of sight at all. They had a fear factor due to there sound and randomness.

But I drove down to cowtown... sorry Calgary... this weekend to pick myself up some Hussar's and the Red Blok Army Box... Finally. I remember the reading the whole "don't use missiles because of no Freindly fire markers deal". It didn't sit right with me. In several ways. One rather then manufactoring on mass FF tags for all their striders they decided to go the impractical way of having to mass manufacture a new weapon system to fill up all the slots of the missile lanchers they needed to replace. The other thing would be that the missle lanchers of today (javalin, AT-4 etc.) don't break a lock on because a FF ID tag tells them they are freindles. The ID tags transmit were freindles are to ground control units like AWACS so that if a unit of freindles goes to engage another unit of freindles then forward control can redirect them to stop. the weapons themselves do not say "hey that's a freindly tank I'm not shooting at it". Units call in that they see tanks at a coordinate to forward control...forward control checks the position of freindles...verifies that spotted unit isn't freindles...then if they aren't...they OK a strike. So FF ID tags as a reason for no missile lanchers kinda a cop out in my book.

So I'm toying at ways of adding more lock on fire weapons....with out over powering them of course. this may be from the Imperial gaurd heavy weapons team missle lancher squad.

And I may make an indirect fire option for rockets... something like they loose 2 to their accuracy and the blast range wil be small and they only do 1 damage.

My other problem is the size of the mortor guns and the fact they do little penitration. I mean those shells have to be huge!! Like the size a solders torso and your telling me they have no real punch or at least a larger blast radius. Come on. Smaller mortor we use today do more damage. In theory these guys are a bit beyond were we are now right???

Keep the ideas on this coming.... especially other armies ideas.....

can't give my Red Blok army all the updates...lol. I'm not mean. Though those monkeys are on there own......lol
