I have loved this series since the first game, and it was actually my second PS2 game.
Gotta say I love the second for it's space battles,m and I think it had some of the best weapons selection.

Yes, I am also a fan, if not a hardcore one.

I really should pick-up Tools of Destruction again. I never did finish it.

Crack In Time is coming soon.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I'm a fan; it was my third game. (ps2)

Cheese Elemental-Love does not bloom in 40k. Love burns. It gets turned inside out, set on fire, raped, shot with bolters, and beaten with a crowbar.

People tend to notice Pariahs. If you're in a crowded room with one, everyone's killing themselves.

Armies:
40K: 500+ pts,
1000+pts, 1000+ pts
Fantasy: Lizardmen (Wip)

I loved the first game in the series. Played it through, all the way. Now i'm kicking myself because i never picked up the sequels, even though i thoroughly enjoyed the demos of them i had played.

Are the PS3 editions of the games stand-alone plot wise or would i be missing too much by not having played anything since the first?

I picked up Tools of Destruction again after about a year and this thread. I was about thrity minutes from the finale'

Oh well, I started over on hardcore or whatever mode. Great game either way.

I don't think missing a few in the series will effect your playability either way. ToD is certainly a Stand Alone but the ending does lead into the next one (or PSP game) so that's kind of crappy.

I'd pick up the others simply cause they're great, as well as providing info on what happened to some of the recurring characters. Remember the Plumber?

I absolutely love them all, although 3 is definately the best
I am saving up for a PS3 for the ratchet and Clank games and Call Of Duty

Hi guys, I got a question on the R&C games. Are they like the Jak & Daxter games? Because I really like that series.

I just saw that they brought out this R&C bundle with R&C 1, 2, 3 in it so maybe it would be a good buy for me.

I think it's made by the same developers. Haven't played J&D myself, but R&C is great fun. I've yet to pick up Tools of Destruction, but I have all the games up to Gladiator. Up Your Arsenal is the best IMO, both for single- and multi-player.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Love them. I have only PS2 but played all PS2 games and I think that the 3rd one is the best. Always (unless you count the PS3 games too)

Win/Draw/Lost statics
Space Orks: 11/1/1
Space Marines: 10/2/5
Lizardmen: 8/2/3
High Elves: 13/2/2 and one tournament victory!
Dark Eldar: 1/0/0

They are a bit like Jak, but not in the same open world sort of sense you get with Jak. You can still go places, it's just more linear I guess is the right word. Also, not gonna spoil the ending, but ToD's left a lot to be desired. Well, they prolly want you to download quest for booty then. That's how they get ya.
I would suggest gettin it and if you don' like, you can always return/trade it in.

Had trouble figuring out what you meant by this. Turns out that it goes by two names. The American one sounds cooler IMO.

Ratchet: Deadlocked
Ratchet:Gladiator. Sounds like Russle Crowe's gonna burst out and stab Gleeman Vox while yelling "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!!"

They are similar, and there are judicious references to the others in the games (Jak and Daxter posters on R&C)
they also use shared software.
