DARK JUSTICARS
The history of the Dark Justicars can be traced as far back as the Imperial fist
Having split form their parent chapter they disappeared from sight till recently. At first the imperium was weary of their reappearance thinking they may be under the sway of chaos.
The Black Templar’s who were the nearest space marine force were asked to investigate the Dark Justicars. On arrival the Templers found that this mystery chapter was actually there long lost brother chapter. Having split form their parent chapter at the same time the Justicars had been rumoured to be on the trail of chaos traitors. Nothing was heard from them after that .until now the Templar’s were quick to welcome there long lost brothers finding an uncanny affinity for each other which can only be explained by their close ties before the disappearance and the fact both came for the same founding chapter
Word was sent back to Terra where the records were updated to show the Dark Justicars as active and no longer missing but as yet there numbers have yet to be assessed and it Is wildly believed they could even rival the Templar’s for numbers ,even though they follow the codex Astarte’s .
Many believe they have been hidden away swelling their numbers ready to defend mankind in its darkest hour.
There chapter colours are dark green and silver with gold being worn by revered members of the chapter such as the Captains the chapter master ,Terminators and honour guards and veteran sergeants sport one gold shoulder plate
Like there brothers in arms they loath leaving battle until it is won, and many a time they have stayed the course against insurmountable odds yet somehow have won through .
This is widely believed to be because of their single mindedness and sheer arrogance to never accept defeat, they have a strong affinity with their fellow imperial fist offspring the Black templar’s, which again would explain their bloody mindedness and also why they were accepted so quickly by the Templar’s on their reappearance.
Unlike most Codex Astarte’s chapters that have the normal rank structure the Dark Justicars due to their long absence from the sight of the emperors grace do not have captains to lead there brothers although there are a few Captains within the Justicars structure the Chaplin is where there strength lies .
It is every Dark justicars aspiration to follow their Chaplains and become the emperor’s justice. To become a Chaplin within the chapter is seen as much of an honour as becoming the Chapter master himself if not more
Having been so far fromm imperium space the Chaplin rank became more of a symbol of the emperor than ever and over the years Chaplains became the main driving force behind the Justicars unwavering faith in the emperor, keeping the faith even when they were so far from his light.
Brother Chaplin Recus epitomises this as the oldest and most revered of the Dark justicars Chaplains , his example of faith, devotion and sheer dedication has driven the Justicars to victories that no chapter should have won no matter the numbers.
With Recus leading the chapter into battle their wrath and aggression borders on the insanely fanatical
Again like the Black templar’s they shun the ways of the Phyker but will join forces with other chapters that use them. Unlike the Templar’s they accept the need for phykers within the imperium but shun there kind within their own ranks.
The Dark Justicars tend to lean more towards a mechanised force, consisting of Rhinos, Land speeders and Landraiders., Terminator Assault squads make uise of the Redeemer able to dish out plenty of damage to whomever they meet. Unlike most chapters the Justicars have a large amount of tactical dreadnought armour making them able to field a vast number of terminators surpassing any amount fielded by any other chapter
Tactical squads have used drop pods where the situation calls for it but in most battles they utilise Rhino’s or the extensive pool of Landraiders) that the Justicars favour over most other vehicles. It is believed that the Justicars have the largest amount of Landraiders of any space marine chapter.
There effective detachment of land speeders harass the enemy at every opportunity
They also like to split their squads down leaving the heavy weapon marines able to put down even more fire power while the rest rush forward to clear what ever might be left of their foe
It is truly a horrifying sight for anything that faces them to see such weaponry brought to bear.
Before each battle they say a mantra which if forgotten it is said to lead to their own destruction.
Wishing is for those that hope
Winning is for those who dare
Pity is for the weak
Victory is for the Emperor
Annihilation is for those who face us
