Back in the days of Dark Crusade DoW was the only game I played, it had everything; fast paced action, visceral combat, Necrons, strong community......
After recently reminiscing with one of my mates about all of our narrow victories and painful defeats we had enjoyed over the years I was so inspired to try my hand at this fantastic game series again I went home and re installed Soul Storm, downloaded the patches and got excited for some more heart-pumping-adrenalin-thumping matches.

The first thing I saw when I loaded the patch was the long list of bugs that needed to be fixed when SS went live (anyone else remember the Harlequin debacle?) and I was reminded why I stopped playing in the first place. Next I hop onto the lobby, notice there are 32 people online, and see that there is a strained apology from the DoW crew for the final and slow death of Automatch. With tears welling in my eyes I then checked what few matches were available to join and to my despair the only matches were 3v3's with 80% of the games been compstomps.

And then I wept and vowed to never play Dawn of War again. Its OK i tell myself we had a good run......

(I may not have actually cried, but this was still a pretty depressing experience, can any of you share my pain? )
