So as I got home from work just now I found that my copy of rogue trader had been delivered. I immediately ripped the box open to get at the awesomeness inside. I'm still digesting it as I'm typing this. All I can say is that I love the book. Great presentation. There are tons of illustrations I've not seen before. My guess is some if them are from publications from before my time. I like the origin path system. It really helps you flesh out your character. This is my favorite FFG Warhammer offering so far. I think it fixes a great many of the issues that people had with Dark Heresy.
One interesting side note, this book has lots of illustrations and references to the Kroot. They apparently have a presence in the Kronus Expanse. Also they have rules for Ork Freebooters as NPCs, which is win IMO. One bad mark I can give it is that I think the sample campaign in the back, while a cool story, is a bit sparse even for an introductory campaign. Though this book is so dense with info on the setting that there is really no excuse to not write your own campaign.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

On the off chance you're serious... voila.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

40k RPG based around the Rogue Trader, as Dark heresy was absed around being Inquisitorial minions. One thing I've heard is that it's significantly higher powered: the PCs are kind of like the cast of Star Trek (as seen through a 40k lens) in that they may be the actual RT, his/her family, key representatives of the Adeptus Mechanicus and such, and the ship is all but a character itself.
Sounds nifty.

No sooner had my rebuke to FFG been typed and there was a knock on the door.
I have spent the last hour or so drooling over the contents of the collectors edition, not an easy thing to do with a 9 month old trying to chew on it as well! Suffice to say I am well pleased with it and trying my best to forget about how much the p&p cost!
