Subject: A few questions... Part 2

After my "A few questions" thread, I have thought of a few more things which I've been wondering on
1: How big do you think a Craftworld is?
2: How to Titans manage to walk/move without limbs simply breaking off due to their extreme weight?
3: Why does a Drop Pod carry 12 people when there are only 10 seats?
4: How many casualties are considered as a major loss to the Space Marines? The codex tells of a "great loss" involving one dead Terminator and 5 Tactical Marines, yet a game involves losing whole squads of Marines or Terminators.

1. a craft world is roughly the size of florida in the USA
2. titans can move due to the 'machine spirit' inside of it
3. maybe they have handle bars inside the drop pod
4. according to the codex the space marines consider losing a company of ultramarines a great loss
my questions
1. what do the inperial guard call a markerlight?
2. why is it that the tau codex says that they have human auxilliaries and yet there are no stats for them?
3. does anyone know how the tau actually travel through warp space?

I've always thought that when SPEYSH MARIHNES! do fight, they do it in small numbers. Our games represent larger, more infrequent engagements. Unless it's ork vs orks...

GW do that alot. Like, the most numerous un-warpy followers of chaos are the latd, yet they no longer have rules. You've gotta make do with other rules,like I use the IG rules for my chaotic renegades
3. does anyone know how the tau actually travel through warp space?
"The Tau do not directly enter the warp as they have no knowledge of the warp other than its existence. They travel by 'diving' towards the warp and skimming the edge. While this is much slower, it is much safer and more predictable. This limited form of warp travel has resulted in the Tau empire being closely packed, where the Imperium is dispersed throughout the entire galaxy."

1. Heavy Lasgun (Sersiously no idea, probably Marker Light or Laser Sight)
2. They used to have them, they were a seperate thing in WD or something like that. If you search you can maybe still find the PDF about them. Found it, here it is.
3. They skim accross the surface of it, never travelling completely into it. Kind of like skipping a pebble accross water.

the reason for the first question is because i got a second hand tau codex and it says:
the imperial guard righty named the markerlight the................
basicly someone scribbled it out thats why i need to know

Found it, page 38. It's a cool name as well
Imperial troops who fought in the Damocles Gulf Crusade described the signature of the barely visible markerlight beams as the Valkyrie's Mark, because those it chose were soon numbered amongst the dead.

I could only think of one, but it's not really a background one so not really on topic. Does anyone know how big the Epic Eldar Titans are compaired to the normal 40k Eldar models (not Titans, infantry)?

hey guys i have been making custom units and stats for them here is the first you can edit what you want
Shas'O Tash'var Vera Fali'shir Aun'Ki
Cost: 175 pt

Special character: O'Vera is a special character. He may be used in any tau army wich does not include Aun'va or commander shadowsun. You may not choose any additional equipment from the armoury.
Equipment: XV8 Crisis battlesuit, multi tracker, plasma rifle, cyclic ion blaster, shield generator & bonding knife.
Special rules:
Clever cowards: O'Vera's forces are renowned for laying well prepared ambushes for their enemies, and then vanishing, as soon as their victims comes to close. Any unit in an army led by O'Vera may break off any time they lose an assault phase, regardless of their morale roll. Crisis suit teams in an army led by O'Vera rolls a D6+6 when determining their break of distance.
Hardened Veterans: Many of O'Vera's followers have been there since his break with the greater good, and are by far more skilled in close, as well as ranged combat, than their loyalist counterparts. Any model in an army led by O'Vera may upgrade their WS,BS,I or T by 1 to a maximum of 5, for two points Pr. model. If one model in the unit does so, then all models in that unit must be similarly upgraded. Any models in a Crisis team, may always be upgraded to the rank of Shas'Vre, and thereby gain all the benefits of such for an additional 10 points per model.
Breakaway faction: O'Vera and his followers has fled to the Farsight enclaves, and now visualise Commander Farsight as their leader, rather than the Ethereals. As such, the Forces that may be included in an army led by O'Vera have been limited to better represent this: No Ethereal, Kroot or Vespid may be included in an army, led by O'Vera.
Independent Character: unless accompanied by a bodyguard, O'Vera is an independent character, and follows the independent Characters special rules. If accompanied by drones, he may still join other units.
Note that this profile is “so called” home rules, which means that it has no relations to official games workshop products or rules, and may only be used if your opponent gives you his full acceptance.
