So I've been reading the Space Wolves Codex when I noticed something weird. I'm not too familiar with the fluff about the Space Puppies, but there was one thing which I thought was a bit odd. Appearantly Fenris is not only the Hoth with vikings of the 40k universe, there is also the "summer" period, where the "ice caps melt and the oceans boil", something which I've never heard before.

I was just wondering: has this always been part of the fluff for Fenris? Or is this one of the cases where GW retcons something to make it even more "kewl"?

It's been that way since I first read up about it in 3rd Ed. They also have all kinds of giant sea monsters, and Fenrisian Ale is so strong it'll kill anyone not accustomed to it

IIRC fenris hasnt a stable course. Fits its inhabitants somehow....

Should be found in the mini-dex too. So nothing new.

Here's another thing in the SW fluff. I just read the passage about the wolf rider character. Canis what's-his-name.
He als had this whole Jungle-Book thing going on. He was raised by wolves until he encountered civilisation etc.

Didn't it occur to anyone at GW, that exactly the same fething thing happend to Leman Russ himself?

The lion and Konrad wernt really raised by wolves. Konrad was with civilization from the beginning, and eventually started to kill criminals or anyone who had committed an injustice. He then revealed himself, and ruled his city. Lion looked after himself in the warp-tainted forest till he was found by the orders knights.

"And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends."

I guess, if you dig deep enough, nothing from GW is original and new, its all just regurgitated and respun from more older established myth, pop culture, and other Sci Fi settings.....

But then....I'm sure you guys knew that

So Fenris is either a frozen hell hole or a firery hell hole....... Sure why not? We have space clowns and apparantly batman is now a primach.

Doesn't matter what it is or what it is intended to do. If you add a chainsaw to it then it is instantly better!

Fenris has been that way since at least the 2nd ed. codex. It has an elliptical orbit with its sun at one end of the orbit. Thus, it has a long, ridiculously cold winter and a short, ridiculously hot summer. I guess the falls and springs might actually be real nice and temperate, but then they screwed again by the winter or summer.

Playing Space Marine demo while GF was scrapbooking:
Me: I can turn it down, if the screams of dying orks are annoying you.
Her: That's ok, I love hearing the screams of dying orks.

My armies (W-D-L):
2,000 (about 1,200 painted and now I'm feeling the call of Russ) 3-4-3
2,000 (about 1,000 painted, WiP) 0-1

IIRC its not the regular Fenrisian ale that will kill you, but the Space Wolves version that will kill a normal person.

Is it the Larman Gland that cleans out toxins? They have to overcome whatever it is to do it.

Again IIRC the Salamanders remove or destroy theirs so they get get wrecked. This may or may not be correct though.

I thought It was cause of salamanders geneseed imperfection? Anyway, I think its called the neuroglottis or something like that- Captain Eshara talks about it in Storm Of Iron (Don't lynch me if i'm wrong ).

fixed it.

None of the chapters removes anything.

There were malfunctions, but it depends on your source how inconsistent it gets....
Index astartes had several malfunctions spread over the legions-successors. Actual codices completely ignore such mentions.

I thought space wolves could get drunk because they put a special herb in their ale which overrides their toxin cleaning organ?

Put the wings and little horns fom the Bat symbol on the Punisher's skull symbol and what do you get?

Thus, in theory, if Batman and the Punisher were to fornicate, it would give birth to a Primarch. Yikes.

And an exceedingly evil Primarch at that......

Guess two rights can make a wrong.

That sound's like a job for Frank Miller. I mean the new one, who's totally nuts. Not the old Frank who wrote really good comics.

How many items did Russ leave behind in total? And has anyone ever used his armor? I guess it would be too big as he stood head and shoulders above the wolves like space marines stand above regular men.
