Greetings to all things Dakka!

I have been around miniatures for a great part of my life, remembering HeroQuest back in the day. Eventually I got into WHFB, went over to the LotR when the movies came out, and more recently, have started with some WH40K, mainly because of AoBR.

My twist on gaming is that, as strange as it may sound, the world would probably be a better place if we could confine our struggles to the static-grass fields of death.
Alas, people do not see the value in one of the oldest types of games.

Welcome to Dakka.

And I quite agree that if disputes between countries were settled on the gaming table, things were be a lot more peaceful. And fun.

Could you imaging Pres. Obama sitting in the oval office, surrounded by his minis, pouring over his army list, mumbling to himself about which wargear to take?

I can, its its pretty funny actually.

Cheers

Thank you!

Then picture him saying, "yes, we can," before swiping his opponent's units off the board.

That would of course give rise to the question which armies various politicians would take...

Welcome. I fully agree that would be fantastic, frighteningly in some cases choosing our leaders based on painting ability and list maxing abilities may generate better results. Now imagining Gordon Brown sat in no.10 covered in paint and with bits of model superglued to himself swearing, wishing he'd nicked Tony's 'nids before he left. It's either that or one on one leader knife fights, old school star trek style (cue music).......daaaaadelumdumdumdumdumdumdiddleeeeda......

look, they're politicians, which means that they would be very polite to one another, before going home and investing more money in the miniature defense departement, all the while brooding how to get aforesaid money....
Seems like the education budget is getting cut again...

I think you should get the equivalent of one car-boots worth of junk (randomly picked from stuff donated by your parties supporters) and twenty minutes build time!

If nothing else it would probably increase voter participation....."Mum come look, David Cameron has just used the necron monolith I sent in to brain Nick Clegg"....."Oh that's good dear, that means you get to be minister for education until the next election".

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

Interesting idea guys i think in order to solve the financial crisis with minis you would have to do what the middle east is doing to us with oil own about seventy five percent of the worlds markets of minis and sell them cheap to their citizens and charge the rest of the world an arm and a leg. Welcome to dak dak BTW.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

Badly.... whilst complaining about the others illegal forces and spending too much on inappropriate choices.

Although Gordon Brown is Scottish, and any nation that has a fighting skirt as a national dress and a waist-high barb-wire plant (thistle) growing everywhere (its their national emblem) deserves respect.
