Paid about $60 for some cygnar units.

Guy just didnt want them anymore. Did I get some good units? I know I got a good deal, I just added up everything and I saved like $120.

Also what rulebooks do I need? It was kind of a spur of the moment buy since some of the guys there wanted me to play Hordes.

EDIT: also he said he'd give me all his P3 paints he bought for it. Really nice guy.

I'll check with them, but isnt that only for warmachine? Also do you think it would be kosher for me to use the public test rulebook till the full one is released?

It's kosher, but it all depends on what's happening in your area.
Some places are using or planning to use MK2 rules in competitive
events as soon as November when the Field Test hits.

I dont plan on doing any competetive stuff any time soon. However it seems like they changed the unit costs massively to keep the 2 games from going against each other. Is there some sort of conversion to figure out how to play hordes with mk2?

The problem you're running into is that for Warmachine, the official MK2 rules have been released on the Privateer site, but Hordes has not yet recieved its MK2 rules yet. The field test for them will start at the end of november. UNtil then, it would be possible to play against Hordes players using the MK1 Warmachine rules, which are still fully compatible with Hordes MK1. (Just like Hordes MK2 will be fully compatible with Warmachine MK2.)
