Just thought I'd do some research for the types of things dakka users are used to. I didnt add 'forums' to the list as I think that goes without saying

Used 'em all except usenet, but I only checked the boxes for the ones I currently use regularly.
I also use the chat box on ustream (40kradio and the NHL FTW) and leave annoying (read:abusive) post-it notes

Checked AIM since I have it, but I rarely bother even logging in. Most of the people I'd bother talking to I see regularly enough anyway. Email mostly for official business (class, work, fraternity), occasionally Facebook for the requisite "hey, long time no see" chatter and link-sharing. Most communication happens in person or over the phone (voice and/or text).

Skype and IRC, with about a dozen message boards and forums of varying usage. Occasional commenting on blog posts, but I wouldn't deem that a form of mutual communication. YIM almost always for moderation purposes on one of the forums; not sure listening to people whining about how they didn't deserve the warn for flaming is communication either.

I use meebo, because it lets me be logged in to my MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Facebook and gmail talky thingy all at once without any downloads. So they're all in my browser. So handy. ^^
I never use the AIM part though, and not so much the Yahoo part either. But the rest is good.
I also chat through steam.

You must understand that for an ork a day that starts off killing something with your bare hands, and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle, is a good one.

I use different things depending on who I'm trying to get a hold of. Some of my friends respond best to AIM, some to Facebook, and some to Ravelry, a social networking site for knitters (it's awesome). If I could have just one thing that hit all of them, that would be damned convenient, but I just know too many folks for that to be likely.
