Hello dakka. I have been lurking for some time and decided to join you. I have been playin a little bit of fantasy over the years. the cheap way that is.... no models, units cut out of paper. Since me and my friend like to field a different army everytime. And we did not want to have to buy a new army everytime we play.

Anyway recently we decided to pick up 40k. And guess what we did not start a marine army My friend bought the ork codex and some models. And I picked up imperial guard.

Why guard over marines? Well they are:
1: the most badass, Going to war with a flashlight and a tshirt. Come on you have to have balls for that
2: Tanks lots of Tanks with some extra Tanks to be sure

I practically already bought my entire army only need to buy 1 Chimera and a Veteran unit and it is complete. 1500pt mech vet. I love gaming but i hate painting and moddeling so they have not yet been all assembled and painted. How do you guys find the drive to do that?

Welcome to dak dak and lots of people are out there just like you. You just enjoy the gaming aspect while others enjoy modeling and painting which there is nothing wrong woth that. I personally enjoy the hobby as a whole.
