Dark Angels Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

Hi, I originally started gaming in 1993 when i was 8. However that was just a fad and didnt last, I restarted collecting when I was 18 in 2003, however university called and i soon stopped then.
I've just restarted again because I'd like to be more creative and since I love warhammer I thought I'd carry on my army.
I play Dark Angels and have about 300 points worth that isnt so old I wouldnt want to ruin it. Id be grateful for any advice on how to improve upon the Dark Angels codex... as its a tricky area.
Im living in hitchin just outside of london and would love to have a smallish game to start me off  .
think thats it...
