Hi all, it's the murdog with a shout-out to all you warhammer maniacs! I'm in my 30's with a wife and baby girl, and I've played warhammer fantasy for almost twenty years now (though not lately), and 40k for about 5. I play IG, and am real exited about the new codex. I really like this site, probly the best for warhammer that i've found, and i've been making use of YMTC (in one of my first 5th edition games, a bystander who also plays guard told me i couldn't fire my basilisk direct as it was a barrage weapon. I'm not one to argue in the middle of a battle in a public place, but searching this site after cleared that up for me, and i guess I won't be stomping my basilisk for use as a wreck model after all!). I'll try and get some pictures of my conversions on here, I've made shotguns and sniper rifles out of lasguns, am in the process of making meltaguns out of flamers, and will be making stormtroopers out of regular cadians. I've also found a way to field all the heavy weapons I have by using standing models for loaders and missile launchers, raiding my vehicle sprues for triggers and gun-firing arms, and making a few crews 'in transit' or 'setting up'. You buy a squad and you get all the weapons, just need creativity to field 'em! My most ambitious project is to scratch-build a chimera from sprues, plasticard, vehicle bits and the extra multi-laser from my old hellhound. Big army built cheap in real money - I love it! Or to quote Ronald Dumsfeld "you don't fight with the army you wish you had, you fight with the army you do have". I mean, who wouldn't want 9 valkerie/vendettas and 9 LRBT's on the table (rhetorically speaking)? But who could afford it?
