Very good, a shame that I will just prattle on at everybody about Warhammer whether they want to hear it or not... No wonder I has no friends!

I enjoy the look of incomprehension and vague panic I get when people hear me and my fellow gamers discussing our toy soldiers. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I am insanely guilty of talking people to death about 40k. My ladyfriend said that sometimes she'll just smile and nod, but she'd much rather have me sitting around being nerdy than staying out all night doing who-knows-what. We've both been on the raw end of Cheat-Leave-StealAllYourValuableShit relationships, so at least she understands (and is that much more awesome, to boot!).

"Oomans is pink and soft, not tough and green like da Boyz. They'z all da same size too, so they'z always arguing about who's in charge, 'cos there's no way of tellin', 'cept fer badges an' ooniforms an' fings. When one of dem wants to lord it over da uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da uvver arf don't, so 'e 'as ta hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. Wot a lot of mukkin' about if yer asks me...

Smile and nodding seems to be what most people do, if you go on for too long. Whenever anyone asks me about the game I always say: "It's like a combination of D&D and Risk, except you don't have to dress up or talk in an accent." The problem is that some people will know what D&D is but not risk, or vise-versa.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

First post on here!

Thought that article was excellent! Rang true as I'm about to do a presentation at work about the learning opportunities for young people that are apparent in Warhammer. I will deff innately be using the "you have 5 blue guys yea but those 15 green guys die really fast" when demoing 5 marines vs 15 orks.
