First off, the army lists:
Feel free to give anyone list advice (as long as this doesn't turn into a list discussion), learning is always nice. About the Orks taking so long to get into melee, the Necron player was like "6x4 is too small" so we were like, "Okay, sure." We were playing with no turn limit, just a fight to the death.

Turn Order: SM, Orks, IG, Necrons

Turn One:
Marines are out of range, and move up.
Orks move up, lootas fire out of the battlewagon (using my baneblade as a proxy) at the SM Rhino containing the Captain. Result: Crew Stunned.
Guard chimera fires on a truck, all shots stopped by KFF. Ork player rejoices, then the trukk is destroyed by a Hydra. The trukk careens into a shoe (makeshift terrain) and explodes, killing 4 Orks. Russ fires battlecannon on a Killa Kan and fails to pen. Another hydra/chimera team fires on a Trukk but only stuns it.
Necrons move up and run.

Turn Two:
Marines fire rocket launchers and the predator at some Necrons - one warrior dies, but comes back next turn.
Orks move the battlewagon up, lootas fire on the same SM rhino. Crew stunned yet again.
Guard shoot some more, and kill a few Necron warriors.
Necrons move and run, again.

Turn Three:
Marines fire rocket, nothing happens. Predator fires on a Killa Kan for no effect.
Orks move the living trukk and some other stuff, I forgot.
Guard shoot Necrons - the trukk is hidden behind yet another shoe.
Necrons move.

Turn Four:
Marine player has to go - now it's 750 points vs 1500.
Orks move.
Guard shoot trukk, it careens towards me and drops some angry Orks 16" from a chimera/hydra pair. Chimera fires for no effect, passengers are out of range (shotguns), Russ fires battlecannon and a plasma sponsons at the boyz, but both scatter 8 inches and off the board.
Necrons move. Thrilling.

Turn Five:
Orks call a WAAAGH and assault the Hydra - the nob causes it to explodes, cutting the Ork squad down to 2 members.
Guard chimera fails to hit again, passengers let loose on the Orks and kill them - 3 shotguns wounds and one meltagun wound.
Necrons move.

Turn Six:
Orks move or something, I don't know. They were pretty much dead at this point. Lootas got shaken on the stunned chimera, I think.
Guard shoot Necrons. The chimera that survived the Orks moves up to try to engage the battlewagon.
Necrons open fire on Guard vehicles. Leman Russ shaken and battlecannon destroyed, chimera with Primaris Psyker stunned.

Turn Seven:
Orks stun the chimera moving towards them.
Russ tank shocks Necrons, nothing happens. In a suicide manuever, the Ork-fighting chimera disembarks vets - they're going to try to fry some Necrons with the demo charge. Psyker and his veterans disembark and shoot some necrons.
Necrons do more shooting. No effect on the chimera, Russ shaken again, Psyker's squad is down to just him and two meltagunners. They pass morale.

Turn Eight:
Orks fire on the disembarked vets with the demo charge. Only two are left - a meltagunner, and the demoman.
Guard tank shock the Lord + Immortals and a squad of warriors, no effect - or is there? Ranged fire finally cuts down the Lord's squad, the Lord with them. Now, the demoman throws his charge a fresh squad of 10 Necron Warriors - perfect hit, all 10 die. And, here's the kicker - the Russ tank shock pushed the Lord (well, his body) out of Res Orb range.
Necrons shoot a little for no real effect. All they have left is 2 immortals and 3 warriors (the Lord failed his Phylactery-enhanced WBB, thank the Emperor).

At this point, the other two concede. We make plans for a "try to kill Makr" game - the two of them, with 1500 points, against me with 2000. I don't really expect to win, but it'll be fun. Necron player (he has no models yet) is considering switching to Chaos - "Plague Marines are harder to kill than Necron Warriors?! Why didn't you tell me?", and Ork player is looking forward to trying out Nob Bikers... I've got a PBS itching for their first battle.
