So we played a 6 turn game, where there was 4 objectives. We spiced it up a little by throwing in some stratagems we made using some of the older stratagem rules, and making up some much better stratagem cards. The game started on the small table edges.
Orks
mega boss/mega nobz inside a battle wagon w/deff rolla and 4x big shootas.
KFF Big mek w/ burna w/7 nobz w/painboy inside a trukk
trukk of 12 ard boyz/nob
trukk of 12 boyz/nob
trukk of 12 boyz/nob
deff dredd sporting 2 big shootas
big gunz kannon battery with full grot crew/runtherd
Space marines (not really sure as they stayed in razor backs until they got blown up
lol)
Librarian possibly with marines cant remember) in razor back
2 more razor backs w/6 tactical marines
predator
a dred with heavy bolters/
CCW
2 landspeeders with those missle launcher deals (I should at least TRY to remember Imperial equipment
lol)
devastator squad w/ all heavy bolters.
And finally a sternguard squad in a drop pod.
I rolled for initiative and won so I chose for the
SM to go first, because I KNEW there was a drop pod involved.
Turn 1
Space marines advance towards some of the objectives, in the first round he set up rather well behind terrain and with good kill zones. Drop pod drops down infront of the big gunz. He opens up and lucky for me only destroys one gun and crew. Thats basically it for the
SM turn
Orks - Seeing as there was a drop pod, I kept my battlewagon (his target with the sternguard MWAHAHAHA) and the deff dred in reserves. This worked perfectly as my stratagems were a minor being a unit gets tank hunters for one turn (that comes in handy later)
and a major bring that reserves roles count as being the NEXT turns roll. I roll and fail both rolls which was perfect for my strategy. The big mek and his trukk squadron roll forward towards the
SM lines. The Ard boyz trukk veers towards the sternguard to show them a good time. The Grot big gunz want pay back and fire point blank into the stern guard. Killing ONE WHOLE sternguard. I was laughing.
turn 2
Space Marines - razor backs sit back and open fire at the 3 trukks hauling ass in their direction. The ones that get off, are soaked up by the
KFF. The dred fires off through some terrain, most get soaked up by
KFF 1 or 2 get through and do nothing. Predator uses auto cannon and both heavy bolter sponsons. The auto cannon gets soaked up, only one gets through on the
HB sponsons, and manages to destroy a big shoota(oh darn) Devastators jump out of cover (dunno why but whatever) and moves closer to the tank wall to get a better position on some firing lanes I guess. The landspeeders fire at the trukk mob with
HB and the 4 krak missiles at one of the trukk on the left side of the mob. Most is either missed or sucked up by the
KFF, but a couple lucky ones get in and stun the trukk with a weapon destroyed. Finally the sternguard get some very decent rolls and they wipe out the remainder of the big gunz.
Orks - I roll for reserves and get both of them in. So the battlewagon comes in on the farthest right table edge. Theres an opjective about 2/3 the way up the table that has the Librarian sitting inside it on one objective. I figure Ill either contest or try and take it. The dred pops out infront of the the drop pod/sternguard but hes a turn away at least. The Ard boyz drive up and dive out of the trukk infront of the sternguard. Either they were going to do some killing, OR at least tie the sternguard up until the dred could get there. So the Ard boyz open fire. 11 slugga shots, and they ALL miss. The big shoota lets it rip, and mows down 2 stern guard on his own (hell YES!) Then they assault. The sternguard get to go first and to my ultimate surprise, miss every single to hit or to wound roll. I was a little nervous with 16 attacks heading my way, but Gork and Mork were with da boyz! So my assault ensues and we let them have it. Killed off all but 3, they then fail the
LD test and fall back.
The big mek trukk and the other still moving trukk circle around the ruins and NOW the rest of the
SM army is in sight. I planed on going for the Dred first, and then either pop a razorback kill the crew, or go after the devastator squad. So I basically have to wait through 1 turn of shooting and I can start the killin! Right now, its trukk boyz on the ruins edge, big mek trukk right on the side of them, and now a stunned trukk thats lagging behind. Lucky for me tho that trukk is one move and run phase away from an objective.
TURN 3
Space Marines - Deciding that the sterguard were all but dead,
SM breaks the landspeeders away from the trukk mob, and towards the battlewagon. His Librarian is sitting on one objective in a razorback, but that thing is useless to the BW. So he fires off 4 krak missiles hoping for a lucky strike. Absolutely nothing. The devastator squad lets rip the
HB and scores a boat load of hits, but most is soaked up again. A few got through tho, and weapon destroyed both big mek/trukk boyz. But Im still rocking there so no worries. The razorbacks do the same with nothing to show for it. BUT the predator does some rather nice shooting and ends up immobilizing the trukk boyz. But as luck would have it they are now close enough to ANOTHER objective, and I make the smart choice to just stay inside the trukks and hold it. And add more luck to me he forgets to shoot the deathwind missile launcher in the pod
lol. Gotta love it.
Orks - Keeping my mouth shut was brilliant (I think he was getting frazzled a bit with the sheer awesomeness of the
KFF) because he forgot to shoot that missile launcher, which further annoyed him. Believe me, getting an opponent to start getting annoyed with himself is a smart tactical move. My Ard boyz fire at the sterngaurd killing one, and assaulted the other to DEATH! My consolidation move landed me one move away from an objective. So next turn Ill have 3 to 1. My dred moves up but is JUST out of assault range.
Big mek and his Nobz finally move close enough and dive out at the dred. By now Im a firm believer that the
KFF is the greatest invention in the Ork codex. Ive NEVER had trukks survive this long in a game.

So anywho the mek and nobz charge the dred. Ive got one
PK in the group (
btw I made 6 would groups in a 7 nob mob, so I got me some really nice wound allocations in this game) Its the only thing in my group that can punch a hole in this thing. The dred went first and singles out my Big Mek, luck AGAIN on my side the dred hits, but rolls a 1 on the wound.
PK nob stuns the poor basterd but thats it.
The BW moves ever closer down the side of the table. Ive gotta say, being used to how fast trukks are, BW are SO SLOW!
Turn 4
Space Marines - Well so far the game is really going in my favor. And I can tell by the look on my opponents face. If it wasnt a capture objectives and maybe an annihilation or something, it would be different, but ist getting late in the game and Im owning him. So deciding that the Big Mek HAS
TO DIE, he pulls the landspeeders BACK into the trukk mobs. Unloads at the trukk sitting next to an objective, but fails horrible to do anything. The predator blows up the mek trukk and thats about it on his side. As the mek/nobz are in
CC. The drop pod shoots off its missile, and it deviates WAY past the boyz.
Orks - BW moves closer and is now right on the door step of the only objective he had. The Ard boyz are now sitting pretty on objective number 2. The dred finally gets him some, and shows the on board computer in the drop pod how Orks deal with SPAZ MAHREENS! He hulk smashes the thing into a pile of ruble. The boyz outside now, move and run behind some ruins that happen to have an objective in it. Now Ive got 3 and will be contesting 1 by the end of the game. A miracle would have to happen for me to lose now. I finally use my other stratagem to give the nobz tank hunters. And that was just enough for the
PK nob to punch a hole clean through the dred. He blows up and the nobz and Mek are sitting in a big ass crater. They all saved from the explosion
BTW.
TURN 5
Space Marines - My opponent realizes how bad it is, and so decides its personal, and needs to at least murder Mr Big Mek. Landspeeders fire off at the mek mob. Causes some wounds but not with the all important krak missiles. Razor back 1 decides to go and contest one of my objectives but is a bit far away. The second fires off at the mek mob, kills one and thats it.
HB marines unload and I rolled awesomely. Between
FNP and cybork bodies, they save them all. Predator tries but fails to get through all the damn saves/wound allocations. He will be able to whittle the nobz down if we had another 3 turns
Id guess.
Orks - Im rocking and I know it. This list was rather well rounded and everything meshed well together. The BW is so close I can feel it. The boyz are all sitting on objectives in perfect cover, most without an enemy in sight. All the action is up with the big mek.
Big mek and boyz move WAAGH and assault the 1 razorback left back here. We blow it to scrap. The crew is now in a big ass crater as well and I THINK he even lost one in the boom. My last functioning trukk tank shocks his devastator squad and naturally they fail and fall back. But either way I didnt care, because the spot was PERFECT for the trukk to block the pred from shooting at them on the last turn. So right now I OWN 3 and my opponent owns 1. And just because I could, I made the dred just run around in a circle because its the first time I used that guy in a game.
TURN 6
Space Marines - Looking pretty bad, fires off at the nobz/mek, killing 2. The nobz make a
LD test and pass, they are too Ard to flee. The devastators cant see and neither can the predator. The 1 razorback going off as a last ditch effort to contest one of the objectives, is LITERALLY about 2 inches away from being able to. I almost felt bad. That was it for him.
Orks - My BW finally gets some and rams the Librarian razorback. Got a decent enough score, but rolled a crew shakin
lol. Dred runs in more circles and I make humorous Ork noise. Big mek wants to light the
SM a cigar for the effort and ends up burning the crater that was once their razorback, killing 2 in the process. I didnt feel the need to assault those poor guys, as the
SM player was already feeling what an ass kicking feels like. And that was it. End game.
Orks - 3 objectives
Space Marines - 0
1 contested
The game went long as our games usually do so Im sure I missed a few things. We like to enjoy ourselves to much. But at least my sides hurt from laughing. It was a REALLY fun game though. We both used a few things we have NEVER used before. Big Meks are a Gork and Mork send if you ask me. That
KFF really is what gave me the game. Those trukks would have been scrap by the end of turn 2 without it. We both found out that a devastator squad with ALL heavy bolters are a serious ass kicker. Again if he was able to use them on the trukk boyz I would have taken SERIOUS losses. But the mek/nob mob with all those saves was just seriously hurting the after effect of those. Also the
SM player learned that he should use the landspeeders more aggressively then he did.
But thats how this game goes, you learn from losing not winning. So in short, try something new, you might be surprised with the outcome. From now on I can tell you, there will most likely be a Big Mek in my armies thats for sure. Hope you all enjoyed the battle rep.
