It just started, so your guess is as good as anyone elses.

I have the latest Games Trade Mag, and they are pimping this one. No !@#$ assesment? It looks alot like heroscape, AT43, or any other Prepainted minis game.
depending on how big you want your army, YMMV. They have a few scenario packs and some stuff, but there isn't alot of talk about this one yet.

It just started out, so give it the holiday season for some noise to come out.

It has alot of competition this year.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Play is ok, I hear.
Starter is not only worth it, but needed.
not much, a few boosters of cav and infantry each. Buy a brick of 8, and you will have all figures period, no hunting around.

Other questions, which you should ask yourself:

- Do smaller than GW, weedy, bendy figures bother you? They say 25mm scale, but are more 18-20mm.
- Do you have anyone to play with? If not, do you know a store that has a group organized?

I could not get anyone at my shops interested. We tried to give a couple of gaming groups the demo sets, and they turned us down! I have had 1 person inquire about the game, and he doesn't want me to order him any.

I suspect that if you look around, you can find it cheap. It's not moving real fast. It could turn around, certainly better sculpting would do that, but right now, it's sort of sitting dead in the water, and many people don't want to buy in, only to find out that while 100 bucks is cheap for a tabletop game and army, it's still 100 bucks down the drain if you don't play it.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

A starter, an infantry pack and a cavalry pack are enough for a 7000 pts army, equivalent of about 2000 pts of WHFB.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I want to get this game but am having problems with finding anyone else with enough money to williningly spend on it. It looks cool but I have heard it has some balance issues with ranged attacks. Aside from that any game with bear cavalry I willing to take a look at.

If you want to start the game, find two other people who also want to start it up, and each pick a different of the three factions. Each person buys a starter and trades their stuff for the stuff for their faction from the other two. Presto, no need to buy Infantry packs.

Two Cavalry packs seems to be the norm in my area, as you'll find you much prefer you like one of the cav units in it more than the others and want a duplicate unit.

And for the rares, buy the Legion Bundle and you'll get everything for your faction. Like the cav, you'll find you like certain ones more than others and end up buying boosters trying to get duplicates.

As for game play, it's pretty quick and fun and bloody. There is a bit of a game balance issue at the moment with ranged attacks being better than melee to a degree that your strategy will pretty much be how to best implement your ranged units, while dealing with your opponent's. Have your FLGS contact Wells Expeditions, the makers of the game, to see if there's a registered Legionary in the area who can set up and run some demos to see if you like the game.

If you go to the Arcane Legions Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/arcanelegions) then you can watch the tutorials on how to play the game. And there's a hot chick in a Cleopatra costume on there too...

Then you're good to go. Those are the two big hurdles for the game. With 10 people, you can all easily swap minis out of the starters. Then pick some stuff up specific for the armies you want.
