So, I have Circle and soon will be playing against my friend who just recently started playing Cygnar. We havn't gotten to play for a long time so he has a decent army now....and I'm scared lol OH, WE ARE PLAYING MKII RULES
I'll list off all the models I know he has: OH THIS WOULD BE A 25 PT BATTLE
-Two Hunters, light warjacks
-Defender Heavy warjack
-Sentinel Light Warjack
-Arcane Tempest Gun Mages
with the Officer UA can't remember the rest.
-Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Team
-Lieutenant Allister Caine (he'll use the non-epic version)
I have nearly every model in Circle, and if someone suggests a good team and I don't have one of the models, I'll probably buy it. But my strategy so far is....
I thought immediately of the Druids, for thier vortex that provides concielment, but his list would have freaking 8 models with true sight so the Druids wouldn't help much. But, I will probably still bring them.
I was thinking of using either Kaya (E or normal) for assassinating Caine (I get him into combat and he's mine)
or Krueger the Stormwrath so I could use his feat which could take care of his mages that have ARM 11
So here we go: My lists so far:
Kaya the Wildborne, -6 warbeast points
-Gnarlhorn Satyr, 8
-Sadowhorn Satyr, 7
-Argus, 4
-Druids, 7 (maybe two of these)
-Druid Overseer, 2
-Blackclad Wayfarer, 2
-War Wolf, 1
Krueger the Stormwrath (-5 WB pts)
-Druids (7)
-Overseer UA (2)
-Woldwyrd (5)
-Pureblood Warpwolf (9)
-Tharn Bloodtrackers (5)
-Blackclad Wayfarer (2)
Alright, what do you think? better ideas? Any questions on why I took a certain model/unit?

Why don't you take E-Kaya and some ghostly warp wolves to the fight?
Set up some massive range ghostly tramples on the gunmages/black 13th (E-Kaya's specialty), a pow14 warp blast from the pureblood on someone, then feat away + stealth all your beasts. After which point it should be relatively easy to punish his ranged jacks with your long threat ranges and stealth.
Just a suggestion. I'm really keen to get myself E-Kaya and a pureblood for my Circle Force as they'll make for some awesome combinations.

Either of the Kruegers will work well if he doesn't have many 'immune to lightning' models.
Feat early with pKrueger and fry as many 'true sight' models as you can. Then take his army apart.

I say go with pkreug also, I would get rid of the druids and go with tharn chicks with spears. Use kreugars feat to take out gun mage ua and ryan of the black 13, also hit caine with boosted damage you should do a ton of damage to him and put him on the defensive.

A Woldwyrd will be a good addition too. Cygnar love their upkeeps, make 'em pay for casting Snipe and Arcane Shield.
I'd take a Feral Warpwolf over a Pureblood Warpwolf. Purebloods seem pretty weak to me. Or try a Gnarlhorn Satyr.

pKruegar is kinda the easy button for this match up  I thought he wanted to have an interesting game ?
I second getting a woldwyrd...just in general, they're awesome.
At George Spiggot:
The Pureblood isn't taken for its offensive power...of course you take the Feral over him for pure power. The Pureblood is an amazing toolbox that multiplies the capabilities of your battlegroup.
If Caine is hiding in the back behind models etc...you can always throw a POW 14 phantom seeker at him on top of Kruegars auto damage feat for a chance at the easy win.

I took a PBWW tonight with just this in mind. I find that he does everything in a sub par way. He really doesn't hand out much Synergy, His Phantom Seeker only works on beast ranged attacks (PBWW, Woldwyrd and Woldwatcher), and his FWW 'synergy' effectively replaces other options that the FWW has.
Now if he had virtuoso/gunfighter, his bite back and a slightly less restrictive Animus I'd be more tempted to take him.
How is Kruegers feat auto damage?
Like everyone else I'm still finding my way through MkII Circle Orboros, so I'll take my easy wins where I can find them.

When I read through the cards (albeit quickly) I thought Kruegars feat had changed to hit automatically at the loss of being able to move the templates between rounds.
I could be wrong though.

A Note... I don't have much experience with Circle, but I do with Caine. Use units that are 1. Fast 2. Stealthy 3. Mess with his mana base and spellcasting ability. You need to move in close ASAP with this guy. Use as many beasts as you can, because he can mow down troops like nobody's business.

TO BEEFY: I don't want to go too heavily on beasts because I need some unit killers. And the tramples never work the way you want them to lol
TO GEORGE: I like the idea of using a woldwyrd. don't know why I didn't think of that with Krueger vs Cygnar!
And yeah, that's why I really like Krueger's feat...but I guess it's almost unfair, as BEEFY pointed out
HIS FEAT AUTO HITS NOW  YAY
You know, I really like the Pureblood. He can kick ass in combat and use ranged, and I like his interesting warp effects, but I see your point GEORGE. My original reason for taking him is for the extraa range, but screw that haha. I'll change to the Warpwolf I think. At least the warpolf can get to combat faster.

Kill Lynch Thats your first step. That'll knock out Fire beacon and True Sight from the B13th and dramatically lower their usefulness forcing him to have caine use mage sight on them if he wants to keep them from punching through your trees.
next kill the UA. That'll take the True sight from the ATGm and probably disable the defender as well forcing him to either pick it up with caine or let it sit there. Don't go too infantry heavy, cause either Caine eat infantry alive, unless they're big heavy guys.
After that, you can take his army apart. If it were me the list I'd use is this:
caine
-Hunter
-sentinel (points filler really)
ATGM w/UA
-Defender
B13
out of those models anyways. If it were me PERSONALLY I'd bring Aiyanna and Holt instead of the Sentinel. Or a Charger.
Alternativly you can just out assassinate him and just rush him with Bloodcrushers. Gunmages are tricky to hit but castles they are not. I feel bad about helping one of my favorite casters get beaten by my most hated caster (I have a vendetta against pKrueger), but hey alls fair in love and warmachine amiright?

Well I kind of wish I would have gone with your advice BREAKER, not to mention my own....lol...because I ended up losing... :(
I took Baldur because I didn't want to slaughter his army....but I was the one that got slaughtered...
My list:
Baldur, Megalith, Woldwyrd, Ravagers(4) + Shaman UA, Ravager White Mane, and Lord of the Feast: 25pts.
His list: Caine(non-e), Two Hunter Warjacks, Arcane Tempest Gun Mages + Officer UA, Black 13th Gun mages, Eiryss (non-e), Gorman Di Wulfe, Gun Mage Captain Adept. 25pts.
I used Baldur's forest for concielment, but I realized later in the game I should have just used it for blocking line of sight.
My strategy was to march the Megalith down the field with Stone Skin on outside the AOE forest, while all theravagers, including white mane, stay in the forest to get 15DEF.
Didn't work well.
He took out the Megalith with insane range and armor piercing shots...grrr...but I got off one geomancy spell strike with him...like 5dmg :(
He only killed one ravager before I got them into combat, but they couldn't reach enough targets to pay for thier points....so next time I charge the big stuff first.
The White Mane distracted the black 13th, Gorman, and eiryss and sourvived an insane charging from them...but my luck ran out the next turn when I rolled a 3 on 2d6 so all hit targets went to waste...
My MVP was Lord of the Feast who is INSANELY fun to use and kicks ass. He costs 3pts, but is worth it when he kills like half 7/8 gun mages and makes them run! hehe.
Moral of my story is that I have to remember to bring more warbeasts than I can handle, that way if one goes down, I still have two backup so Baldur doesn't have to keep cutting himself for 3 EVERY TURN....ugh.
Just to make this message longer....lol....my friend used Caine's snipe upkeep on the gun mages at the same time as THEIR OWN snipe ability to give them rng 18. is that ok? I thought it is the same ability so I didn't think so...thanks

I'm wondering if this is the way to go now. You build into your lists one "throwaway"
beast that you don't care if it frenzies, and you always position such that a frenzy
won't ruin your plans.

Multiple effects with the same name (like snipe) don't stack, although multiple with different names do. So no double snipe for +8" range.

well I can tell you that I am certainly going to throw in an extra beast from now on. you never know what is going to happen. Like, just today I used two Argus, one warpwolf, and a woldwyrd and it turned out to be perfect. My opponant took out both argus's easily so I had just enough fury available to max out Kaya's feat the next turn. took all of it :O
