1. Tau sets up first
From my POV, Sha sui in the middle, one squad of 10 fw at left corner, one squad of 11 behind sha sui, one squad of 10 on right

2. Chaos sets up.
Berserkers and rhino on left, Khorne Lord in middle part of another 5 men squad, two with plasma rifles. Five sm to the right.

3. Chaos rolls for initiative.... Fails

Long story short, Chaos WINS (0)_(0) with 7 berserkers left and khorne lord!!!! TAU ELIMINATED!!!
I guess Tau goes down after the first assault?

Isaac Oh, you didn't really report anything. You detailed the lists and set up, and then gave one line *A SINGLE LINE* in which you simply stated that you won.

What was the point?

A battle report involves reporting on a battle. By writing what occurred in in the game readers can examine the tactical aspect as well as enjoy the story.

Though not mandatory by any means, pictures or are also nice so readers can visualise the 'flow' of battle and appreciate any nice painting or terrain.

yeah i was actually writing it out but it was late at night so i erased everything i wrote and just put that. I just wanted to say that i won with chaos to tau on an open field

well then. . . congrats you beat tau, in close combat I would presume. .

While I agree with the above statements, I appreciate your eagerness to share. Just take a bit more time next time, and add in plenty of detail, pics are always nice, and people will enjoy your BR much more.

There are a bunch of great bat-rep writers on here at Dakka; I'd read some of theirs, see what they do, etc. I hope to put up some bat reps as soon as I have more than one squad of painted bugs.
