interesting thread, I found it most informative

95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use humans and the ability to bring a team that people don't really know to prepare for is amazing!

Hey, thanks for the replies. Sorry that my contribution to the thread was so lame in the first place
I was preparing for a tourney originally... My humans got cleaned out something fierce. The first problem was that we had 1.3 Million GP to create the team. "That extra .3 is just about right to hire the Mighty Zug," I thought. I didn't realize that I'd need to re-hire Zug for each of the next two matches in the tourney. No way that was happening...
In the 3rd match, a guy with Elves mercilessly plowed over me 5-0. Brutal.
So, Zug is retiring from Blood Bowl now and is looking for adventure and fortune in the Underhive as a member of my Goliath gang.

So, there were lots of problems, including taking the overpriced Star Player and not knowing that I wouldn't be able to use him for 2 of the 3 matches. Mainly my thrower not being able to pick up the ball constantly, failing to make passes, taking stupid risks to run through too many tackle zone squares, lots of turnovers in my end zone generally, and failing rolls to injure opposing players. In the final match, Bradius Maximus, the main guy I was bumping up with skills and attribute points all night was killed early on (Nuffle bless his soul), effectively ending my passing and picking-up-the-ball game.
Hey, it could have been worse: if I was in Vegas rolling the way I was I'd be living out of the back seat of my car right now.
One thing is for sure, Blood Bowl kicks major ass and its not a game for the weak of heart, mind, or stomach! -Jamie

I thought you could only have 4 blitzers?

Also I play Humans in BB and they sure can win, I don't win every game but I win enough to keep me happy. I find picking a style of play, in my case passing but still being able to run the ball with all the blitzers and what not is great with the humies. It's the ability to change up your style on the fly that helps them win.

But of course you can't plan for bad luck, like your main guy getting killed first turn, but them's the breaks in Blood Bowl.

Humans are a very strong BB team. They have relatively cheap players and re-rolls, and can buy an awful lot of different players with skills from the get go.

Blitzers and Throwers really shine, and Catchers are icing on the cake. A thrower's "Sure Hands" is invaluable, and then if he gets into a sore spot, he can always pass. Burn a re-roll if passing to a blitzer, as their M7 is critical for getting down the field in a hurry. The Catcher should be passed to if he's in the open, but most of the time you'll find that your blitzers are doing most of the work.

And ditch the star player.

Humans can win, its takign advantage of their running game vs the right opponents vs their limited bashing vs lighter opponent slike elves.

Throwers are bliss, I'd normally take 1-2, ofcourse 4 blitzers each time. The Ogre is a 50/50, hes nice to get early to skill, but if he dies you'll cry at the loss of money. so if taking him take an apoth after first game.

catchers for me are too weak, vs bashy teams a s2 will be beaten up and bruised and with av7 its not pretty. especially being down 1-2 men due to them being taken off. and 70k is not cheap to loose.

my normal team is 3 RR's 4 blitzers, 2 throwers, ogre and rest linesmen, the remains is saved for a apoth after first game.

catchers can come later when you have skills to cover them better.
