Tigard Oregon

Hi, my name is Ryan Gaston. I live in Tigard Oregon (Right outside of portland)
I am a 40k gamer as of today(AOBR Christmas)

(I do have 2 games experience under my belt with borrowed armies)

I would like some good solid tactical idea's on how i should expand the AOBR army, I think i want to go with the orks first.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Dakka! I would suggest looking in the Army List forums in the 40K section for suggestions on how to expand out your orks and the tactics section for more ideas. Do you have the codex yet? If not, that should be your first stop.

How is it they live in such harmony - the billions of stars - when most men can barely go a minute without declaring war in their minds about someone they know.

Welcome to Dakka.

Also, its nice to see someone near me! I'm in Beaverton. My FLGS is Knightfall Games on Beaverton-Hillsdale. You should come by and check it out.

Are there any local shops near your location? If so, what/where?

If you want to start with the Orks, I would suggest first a codex (as that is a fun read in itself) and as an expansion to your army get a trukk or battlewagon to haul your boyz in. There are lots of options for orks but trukks and/or wagons are a staple (any transport is a staple really).

If you are in the Beaverton area tomorrow (saturday) stop by Knightall. Ill be there in the evening.

And welcome again to Dakka.

If I give you a cookie, will you go away? If I give you the bag, will you go far, far away?

Welcome to Dakka brother! Orks are an exciting army to play. My best suggestion (I've played Orks, IG, and now switching to SM and my kids play Tyranids and Chaos Marines) is before you begin purchasing your army (witch is an investment in my opinion) go to www.scribd.com and look up the codex. Peek through and read how they play...look for articles and see if that army is your play style. If thats what you wanna go for then buy the codex and get started!

On that scribd.com note please make sure you purchase your codex once you make your decision stealing is not cool and scribd.com is just a way to look at codex's and saving yourself some cash if you invest in a codex and realize the army isn't your style!

P.S. Tigard is a nice area....I used to live in Gresham (crappy area so I moved out of state and reside in MN now )
