Hello,

I am very interested in starting Warmachine/Hordes and am planning to make some purchases relatively soon, but I had some questions. I have already downloaded the Hordes Field Test and the Rules for Mark II WM.

I haven't really read about the fluff/tactics of any of the factions, but I did like the looks of the Legions of Everblight models and was thinking about choosing them to start off with.

One question I have is if I start out with a Hordes faction, will I be able to play against Warmachine squads using Mark II rules?

and

Is there some book I should look into buying while at the store or should I just wait into a new book comes out next month?

Thanks

The games are compatible. Once the field test is done, an inprogress posting of the rules
will be posted for official events from January to July/August. We're presuming that they
will have cards ready for Gencon.

Warmachine Prime has warmachine factions in it, but it will have most of the same rules
that Hordes uses. The biggest difference will be how the warbeasts work vs. the warjacks.
If you want to see the field test rules you can sign up for the field test on their website
and download the rulebook pdf for Hordes.
