Greetings all, we are a new game club called Llamas at War and we are seeking out more players in our area. We are located around the Allentown area, with slightly more focus towards the stroudsburg area. We most often play either in Brodheadsville or every once in a while we go out to Macugie. For those that know the ski resorts, I personally live 15 min from the Blue Mountain Ski Slope.

In any case, my group of local friends is looking for players to join in the fun known as 40k. We are a casual gaming group, so if you are looking for tournament heavy lists please keep looking else where. Warhammer fantasy is beginning to pick up interest in our group but no one really taken the leap over just yet.

We currently keep at each other's houses to play and we would welcome any player looking for a new group to play with. We will even help you learn the game or even just learn more about the hobby. Directions can be given out if needed or even be up to meet else where if you rather just do a meet and greet first.

If you like to learn more about us or would just to chat with us, please come to our club forums located at http://llamasatwar.proboards.com/index.cgi or instant message me through AIM, my screen name is "SirRouga" or email me at "sirrouga@aim.com". Please do not message me here as I may not check my messages for a few days.

Obviously a different group of Llamas.)

There are several large groups that play at my shops, Showcase Comics, down in Philly. Several of the guys are from the Allentown area. You might want to take a trip down for an event and meet some of the folks. Bring along a few flyers with contact info, etc. A lot of the tournament players actually like to do casual games, and scenarios as well. Gives us an excuse to build multiple armies.)

You know about The Portal over in Bhem? Good group of dudes, gamed there weekly when I lived in the area. 40k happens on Saturdays, with APOC and other bigger events like the occasional RTT going down from time to time. They've got a forum off that site, dunno if that would be worth posting on.

The Portal is about 4 miles down the road from me. I've stopped in a handful of time to buy some things. The people seem nice, but the derelict building it occupies makes me not want to spend much time there. :(

Not to mention that they're more about Magic: The Gathering than any other game.

magic is the portal's principle income builder, so it takes more of a presidence.

i would love to get involved in your group. i do alot of in house gaming, and while im in a 40k slump at the moment i think some fresh players might brighten my spirits, i play fantasy as well as warmachine too. i live in bangor, and making a trek to Sburg or Broadheadsville is fine for me.

There ain't nearly enough Salvage in this thread!

Sorry I haven't responded to all the posts here earlier, don't come out to this part of the interweb that much.

Well sadly of our entire group it seems I am the only one available to play on Saturdays on a regular basis and the Portal is a bit of a drive, and philly is even further out. So I usually play at Hobbytown usa which is almost half the distance from me than the Portal. We also try to keep things in a more casual style here as the majority of our players are learning new armies or just starting all together, we are just not interested in tournament level play and rather not have to deal with players that can't "tone it down".

Right now we are still a small game club looking to build as our members come from all over, from Stroudsburg to Alburtis. We usually play on sunday afternoons from 1pm to 8pm at either my place or at our friends in Alburtis when the weather is nice. A few of us, including me, are also available to play during the week as well.

Right now we are focused on 40k still but we got a few new fantasy players here and there is interest in other games too. Just since most of the people just got new armies or just started in 40k don't expect instant turn over just yet.

As for those Llamas at BOLS, who do you think we are at war with?

Yes, saw that in the earlier post. Only mentioned coming down and meeting people at an event because you are looking for people to play with. Lots easier to pass out some fliers and meet people that come down from your area at a tournament or megabattle since lots of folks are all there at once. Not all tournaments and events are competitive, and not all tournament players don't know how to "tone it down". Most of ours attract a higher ratio of hobbyists because we use a comp system, and require painted and based miniatures to play.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

While I disagree with comp. scoring in every sense of the term... Kudos for requiring painted and based models. One of these days I'll make it back down your way, if not for the gaming than the stimulating conversation.

Come down Saturday. It should be quite stimulating. First event in the new bunker, and 2 tournaments running at once. Some folks up from GW HQ in Baltimore, quite a few clubs from PA, NY, NJ etc, and pots of pork barbeque and chili that my wife and I are cooking tonite. And after round 3 and we hit the bar, it will get even more stimulating.

I'm in the unique spot of not only playing in the area near Mikhaila's shop but also working in Easton, so PM sometime when you guys are getting a game going up there- I'd love to stop in and maybe get a game going!
