Hey, I'm completely new to this site and all Games Workshop products. I got started in 2009 by playing a buddy's copy of Space Hulk 3rd Edition and fell in love with the 40K universe.
I haven't bought an army yet but I'm planning on hitting my local GW store for a demo and then probably pick up Assault on Black Reach and try to paint it. (I'm new to painting too.)
My background in board games goes back to 2004 when I started playing Eurogames and then graduated to wargames (hex & counter, block, etc.). I think 40K is my Next Big Thing.
Love the articles and pics on this site!

Ha ha, I know what I'm getting into. The hobby I come from (board games) is littered with people who spend > $2K a year on board games and they don't even play them. I figure even if I don't find a regular opponent I'll have fun painting them.
