Hello reader. I've read these forums for a while but don't post. I am an old Rogue Trader/early 2nd. ed player who took about 10 years off, and came back midway through 4th with a small Guard army. I am still getting used to the rules changes, since I don't get to play often, but I have gradually (with the help of birthday and christmas presents) assembled and fully painted about 4000 points worth of Eldar figures over the last 2 years. I recently started collecting Space Marines (I used to have hundreds of them but I gave them away when I was no longer playing, years ago - so I'm starting from scratch.)

So far I have the contents of Black Reach, 10 extra tactical marines, and the terminators from space hulk to work with. That's a pretty top-heavy army and not very efficient, but hey go with what you got, right? When I can afford it I plan on expanding with a Battleforce and leaving the collection at that, probably milk 1500-2000 points from it depending on upgrades. For now I'm still toying around with color scheme, and 'hypothetical' army lists since the figures won't be table ready for at least a couple of months. I hate playing unpainted it makes me feel dirty. I shun forgeworld special rules and only play pure codex GW units and always adhere to WYSIWYG, no proxies.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give my paint jobs a 6. I lack the patience to do little more than prime black/basecoat/wash/drybrush/flock. I don't bother with highlighting and blending and all that I don't have the patience. I just let the washing get the cracks and the drybrushing get the raised parts. I'm lazy so I let the brush techniques do the work for me. It's fine from a distance but up to close scrutiny they won't win any competitions. I am happy enough with them though.

Other hobbies I have include creative writing, occasional beer-and-chainsmoking-while-writing-and-recording music (I am a rock dude), playing and singing at little local bars, cooking stuff with meat and garlic, chess, old DOS computer games, and playing with my cats. I live in northwest Ohio near Toledo.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

Welcome to dakka.

I am currently trying to play drums. My musical interest is Black Metal/Folk metal.

I love my traitor guardsmen army and other then Dark Eldar. Have no real interest in any other armies.

Although I do think it would be cool to do a Nurgle CSM army.

I've sold so many armies. :(
