So which codex is/will be better for counts-as World Eaters than Co: CSM? Co: SW or the soon-to-be-released Co: BA?

Brief, subjective comparisons:

BA will be a faster army, entirely decked out with furious charge and a ton of assault marines at disposal.

SW also has access to furious charge, less so than BA however, and it has solid counts-as Hell Hounds

BA has a "Faustian" list which essentially the Flesh Tearers, BA successors that have accepted the black rage as a gift as opposed to a curse. This may prove to be the truest counts-as choice if one uses Co: BA.

SW has tons of really strong units that simply can't be used if one plays a Khorn army e.g. Lone Wolves, Long Fangs, strong psykers, etc.

BA may have more characters that would fit WE characteristics however without access to 'Hell Hounds' the dex is monotonous. Of course it must be mentioned that Mephiston is top 3 psykers in the game... maybe the SC comparison is less than appropriate but I think it is important to find someone as nasty as Kharn the Betrayer!

My Initial Opinion:
Co: BA will prove to be a better choice for a counts-as World Eaters rule set because of the tight focus on speed, close combat, and army-wide Furious Charge USR.

Thoughts?

Ummm...somewhere...

BA... defiantly, SW's would be too unfluffy unit wise and things like the death company more less fits in with the WE spaz attacks...

Yeah, it's clearly the BA.

Death Company = Bezerkers

Also, Long Fang equivalents and Thunderwolf riders don't really fit the World Eater ethos either.

Although what's wrong with using Codex: Chaos Space Marines to represent Chaos Space Marines? I know it got hit pretty hard with the nerfbat, but it'll cycle back around. GW always does.

Funny thing is death company doesn't even need to represent berzerkers because the ENTIRE ARMY GETS FURIOUS CHARGE. At least according to the rumor mill. Death company would better represent khornate ascendants/champions or something.

I agree with the long fangs, thunderwolves, and other unit choices as being unfluffy.

Don't even get me started about Co: CSM. If you want to hear arguments against Co: CSM then search on Dakka or go to http://mechanicalhamster.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/differences-of-opinion/#comments

Cry babies, just play with a pair.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Oh that is right! I knew there was a reason I used to think the thunderwolf cavalry would be okay.

Does that change the preference from BA to SW? I am kinda thinking it does...

Sanctjud, if you don't approve of the thread you don't have to comment. Your opinion has been noted, you disapprove of hobbyists using one rule set to better represent fluff than those actually intended to fill the role. Got it.

This is a general discussion forum and this thread appeals to some.

I'm from the future. The future of space

It is kind of sad that the rules in the appropriate codex don't even work for the Legions at all. I'm thinking that both BA and SW could work, depending on what you take.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

@Deuce11:

There is a reason why the is there, it was a joke.
I too embrace the 'count as' movement.
And as I said, anything works and is only limited to your imagination.
The most I've seen talked about was SW used as World Eaters. Though the CSM is bland, it's still highly functional as a representation of World Eaters... (now doesn't that sound wierd? )

As for my comment about nids being part of World Eaters:
My thinking is:
Guants = cultists.
Stealers = Crazed zerkers who have given up any defense for all offense.
Warriors with doublt bone swords as a somewhat armored terminators.
Tyrant would be like a Lord on a juggy for the base size.

Stuff like that.

I'm not saying its blasphemy to use another codex to represent them, I frankly don't care, but it's the "CSM codex doesn't work" comments that just don't make sense to me.
It's bland yes, but Zerkers are still hot sauce, saying otherwise just boggles my mind at the very least.
/shrug oh well, what ever floats the boat.
__________

Though Thunderwolf Cav for Zerker riding Juggers is made of win.
