I'm looking for a local shop that sells board games, miniatures and all the general gaming nick-nacks a nerd could ever want. I live in Brighton in the UK and I know where my nearest GW is, but I'm looking for somewhere to be able to browse the latest games that I can try out on my gaming group. As I understand it, there are a lot more shops like this in the US (places like Myriad Games etc), but we don't seem to have the same thing over here. Does anyone either know of any shops local to me, or where I might be able to find out what is available locally?

Essentially, I'm just itching to get my hands on all the goodness I hear about on the D6 Generation and am frustrated with having to buy everything over the internet!

Thanks.

I believe "Daydream Nation 6 Kensington Gardens, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 4AL" might still be there.

Daydream Nation:
DDN is a small store in the north lanes. Located in Kensington Gardens, to get to it you go into a store called Reload, up their stairs to the right and it's the shop on the left. You can tell you have the right place from the outside by looking for the huge Yu-Gi-Oh wooden cutout (Note that DDN is actually above the shop next door to it's entrance, this is not helpful).

To say it's a small shop may be stretching it slightly. DDN is tiny. 3 or 4 customers make a crowd in there. Yet Jodi (who runs it) is lovely and friendly and usually willing to help.

DDN is primarily a collectable card shop. Most of the trade there is in collectable cards and CCGs. Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh make up most of that. The Magic is the same price as Dave's books, but there is a better collection of singles.

Whilst there's no main trade in board games, Jodi can and will order stuff in where possible, and is good, quick and communicative when doing so. Same for RPG books, although there is a small selection on shelf for passers by.

The shop is fairly well affiliated with the Brighton Warlords group, who meet Tuesday nights for Warhammer and Wednesday nights for Magic in the function room of the King and Queen pub.

and I believe "Davids' Comics" on Trafalgar Street sold some hobby stuff too.

Reds8n, that might just be perfect, thanks! Are you in Brighton and know these places or is your search-fu just much stronger than mine?

I knew about Daydream Nation, but I'm not really into CCGs and it was that I wanted somewhere to browse through the games, not just somewhere to order through.

As for Wargames Heaven, that may be just perfect if the website is anything to go by!

Thanks so much. I don't suppose you know of any others in the local area?

You have to know these things when you're a MOD.

I don't live in Brighton, sorry.
